Select a Pay Table
I just saw this article...

Slot machine maker WMS Industries is launching a video poker machine in Las Vegas that allows customers to customize the games with different settings and appearances.
An unspecified number of the My Poker games, which include multiple selections of video poker and pay tables, are to be installed by the end of the year at all 18 Station Casinos properties in the Las Vegas Valley. The digital features allow customers to chose from 14 unique customization factors, including preferences and how cards are sorted. WMS officials said the games can be customized to create thousands of individualized configurations. The settings can be saved and they are automatically restored each time a player returns to the casino and signs on with a customer loyalty card.
So will this allow EVERYONE to be an Advantage Player, by selecting only full pay options?

Don't hold your breath expecting full pay to be an option.

Well, where's the fun in that? Why would anyone intentionally pick a lower pay table on any given game?

I think what faygo is getting at is you will still be in negative territory even when you take every possible favorable option.

Shadowman you are correct in your assumption. Sometimes I just can't help being flippant . I don't see any Casino having favorable games on the pay table selection menu. I also wonder if when a player removes his/her card , does the pay table default to a base setting i:e 6/5 JOB?

Hoping for good paytables and four-color suits.

I suspect that the writer of the original article spoke differently than we do --- and when he said "change pay tables" he meant switch from Double Bonus to Double Double Bonus --- which we would call switching games. Remember this is at Station Casinos. While they do have a few good games (with point restrictions, mailer restrictions, and even then you're kicked out if you do too well) most of their games are much tighter than other local casinos. It wouldn't surprise me if 8/5 DDB was the standard for these machines. Bob

If you play to well Mr. Dancer you get kicked out? Care to explain how that happens.

Bob
If that were true, Bob, then what is the big deal of these new machines? Multi-game machines have been around for a long time.
I would like to see a report on these new machines when they show up. I do not frequent Stations Casinos myself, so someone else will have to clue me in.
