If you play at Caesars avoid the VP by the Sports book. The machines near the Forum Shops/parking garage entrance have better pay tables: 9/5 vs 8/5 DDB, 9/6/5 vs 9/6/4 DB. Across the freeway, The Palms has better pay tables and I've read they have a good promotion going on for new card members. Good Luck.

Walk across the strip to Casino Royale and you'll find 9/6 DDB and 9/6 JOB from quarters up with plenty of other solid pay tables for other games.

Don't forget about Harrahs. They seem to get a lot of the newer games, like Double STP, sooner, if that is your preference for games to play. As a general statement, the off-strip casinos will have better pay tables on the 'basic' VP games.

My niece to me if you want to party go to the strip. If you want to play go off the strip.   Good Luck !
