A night in vegas (this is not a satire

Post by oej719 »

I'm back an feeling pretty good. Seems I had a very small pain in my side, doctor said it was caused by an irratating little bug, but it is gone now. Had to be away a day or so on some biz. On the way back home me and the kids (24 and 22 yr olds, they are going to be engineers like their mother after 1 more year of school)had the gulfstream make a overnight stop in vegas.   We walked up and down the strip a bit and people watched to let our dinner digest a tad. Truthfully Vegas is undeniably a mecca in many catagories. Can't play good VP when you are too full, need the blood going to the brain.

We played VP for about 1-2 hours and enjoyed ourselves as a family even with all the distractions and noise. The boys got slot card and got a free toy(ipod or something) each for signing up. We could of played higher demoniations but played the 25c, 50c and $1 combination machines. Just goes to show that it is just as much fun playing there as it is throwing around big bucks on the $25 and $100 machines and losing. I would of been satisfied at 5 cents but the boys wanted to play higher. Mostly had a good time and ended the night $17 ahead between all 3 of us thanks to my strategy cards I bought from the worlds best known VP pro MR.D. as I like to call him. Making the perfect play does pay off in the long run. We at first thought about seeing a movie but my youngest said Dad this is Vegas, we can see movies in Texas. I want to see Vegas. He was right. He was the one you got us ahead by pulling 4 aces out of his butt luckily and remarked Dad I think I got a hot machine. I just chuckled and agreed. We then went to our room and had acouple of shots of diet Dr Pepper and hit the sack.
The wife called to say good nite. She was watching a taped show of Oprah. Oprah's company name is Harpo productions which is coming to town next year for a week long taping of her show. The wife wants to go of course.

Hope all is well for everyone here and I am looking forward to seeing you all post things of interest in the VP world. Shadow and Rascal especially have interesting information. I wish Mr. Dancer himself would share input with us some in between his busy schedules of teaching and appearances. Nothing beats learning from the best and he is the best.

Glad you had a good time in Vegas. Growing some winners I see.
I share your thought of Mr. Dancer weighing in on some of the heavy duty math issues that arise. There are a number of folks on here that have great expertise on those issues, however,  hearing from the "Master" would be good.

Yes they are good kids. Just after one night of Vp they realize that it is random and luck along with a little strategy. They know that there are no tricks or special holds that you need to do here or there to make the long or short term math change. How hard is it to hold 2 or 3 aces and have the 4th one and a kicker pop up. Nothing special about that. It just was the right hold and the draw gave you the rest randomly. They did take my Dancer stratagy cards hostage the whole time we played. Just follow the instructions and you just might when more often.
We will be going the the capitol city of New Mexico this weekendMy wife is taking a cooking class, while she is doing that me and th boys might try one of the local Indian casino north of town. I made a copy of the strategy cards for them. It is a scenic drive to get there this time of year and the folks in that town make you proud to be an American. They treat you like family and after all we are all one big family.
God Bless America and free enterprise. Have a good Memorial Day.

I would expect to see Dancer here if and when it becomes a profitable use of his time. The more active this forum becomes over time the more likely you will see him.

That would be great. He sure looks like a smart man.
I would like to meet him and watch him play a little and gets him to watch me a give me some tips on how to improve personally. Maybe he will read this and invite me to do that sometime.

Catch Dancer at one of the seminars he puts on.  There are a couple of casinos he makes regular appearances at I think.  Silverton comes to mind.I'm sure Webman could check for us.

I don't have direct communication with Bob Dancer, so checking out his Web site would be your best bet.

Over the last 6 months he has done several classes at Silverton. Checking his website is also a good idea. He occasionally does classes on cruises as well.
OTOH, I'm not sure what you'd get from having Dancer watch you play. A good software tutor is better than any individual could ever be. One area Dancer excels at is looking the total picture when determining where to play. This is extremely important at the higher denoms when factors other than game paybacks are usually the key ones.
