Question Double Bonus 10 7
Hello,Taking a flight to Vegas tomorrow AM. My usual game is JOB, the strategy is easier to memorize. Since staying 4 Queens and have been reading up on 100.17 Dbl Bonus 10 7 at 4 Queens and other places downtown. Practising getting the perfect strategy down and have a question. AK off suit and AQ off suit, wizard of odds basic strategy is to hold A and drop K or Q. The site I am practising says to hold both AK off or AQ off. Wondering which move is correct and does correct move due to whats thrown away? AlsoAJ off, hold just A or both? PeaceEdI allways play with a cheat(just a term, not cheating) sheet. Due to progressives , sometimes have to play a game not familiar with.

Not sure what the 'math' guys would say, but with 7 for a flush, and 4 (I assume) for a straight, I would say hold the Ace and drop the off suit card.

There are three factors to consider simultaneously. In order to hold unsuited AK, AQ, or AJ you need: 1. Exactly one flush penalty to the ace 2. One or two low straight penalties in the range of 2-5 (it is okay for one card to meet both of these conditions by way of a straight flush penalty) 3. The absence of a ten unsuited with the ace Players frequently find that looking for a ten to be absent is confusing. This "error" when it occurs is not very big, and three conditions at once make it more complicated than most other penalty card situations in that game. There are many other penalty card situations in 10/7 that are much more important. If you wish to master all of them, a good source is the Dancer/Daily Winner's Guide for Double Bonus. Another good source of information is Video Poker for Winners --> ANALYZE --> STRATEGY --> SHOW REPORT. Every type of hand that doesn't fit into the strategy is listed, along with the size of the error. Bob Bob

I find it's easier to look for the unsuited ten first. If it's there, I can forget about looking for the flush and low straight penalties.
