Harrahs vs. Caesars AC?

Post by Than01 »

Can anyone that frequents Atlantc City tell me how Harrahs compares to Caesars for VP play?  I visit Caesars about three times a year and play vp but there are lots of drawbacks in my view.  The seats on the first floor came over on the Mayflower and are awful which limits my play.  I like to play by to Toga Bar where the progressives are and also on the second floor by the Diamond Lounge.  I prefer the sit down versions rather than those that tower over you and give you a stiff neck.  The machines by the Sports Book are not played much as far as I can see, including myself.  Just looking for helpful into before I book my next trip.

Yes, Those chairs on the first floor of Ceasar`s did come over on the Mayflower. Those chairs are the original chairs when Ceasar`s openned. Yes , they are VERY uncomfortable chairs.   All of my Ceasar's play is on the first floor by the Toga Bar. I also play those progressive. I also play the DDB progressive ( 25¢) down by the Keno and Horse simulcasting area.

Thanks for the info and thoughts.  I don't like Showboat either.  I have contacted Caesars a dozen times about the chair situation and have NEVER gotten a reply.  Guess I'll bring my own chair cushion.

I rarely visit AC, but I would suggest that you call Caesars AC, and ask for the EMail address of their Casino Manager. I would send him a note, saying that you paid a visit to the new Revel casino in AC, where they offered to match your Caesars tier status, and had VERY comfortable new chairs at their VP machines. So, Mr Casino Manager, tell me why I should continue to play at Caesars AC?

Might get a response..

The only place I like playing at Showboat is in the poker parlor playing the 25¢ AC Joker Poker Progressive. Those game hit frequently.

Hi Jim. If there is ever a get together in A/C I'd try to make it. I live about 1 hour away. I go to Showboat about 2X a month - because there are more 9/6 JOB. I like Harrahs a lot more - but, they only have the 3 machines in the regular casino and 1 in the high limit room. Actually - the last 2 times I was at Harrahs the 3 in the casino were out of commission.  I think they may be getting rid of them because they were always packed when I went there. I found the 2 banks of 4 machines at Showboat from VPfree .  The problem with those machines is that they are old and the screens are blurry. Last time I was there I hit on the 1 machine in the high limit area. Pot luck DDB $2 4A's with a kicker. I still have the picture on my phone. Lol

That may depend on who gets the new machines CET just purchased from IGT. On Sept. 24 CET finalized a deal to purchase 7000 new Video Poker machines from IGT. That could be good news or that could be bad news for us as VP players. The article I read said that there would be 3600 uprights, 2400 slant tops, and 1000 bar tops.

My concern is pay tables. More than likely, I am afraid that they are going to further dilute the pay tables. It is getting harder to find 9/6 JOB machines for instance. Although VP depends to a large degree on luck, I still prefer to play on a machine where the payback percentages are still at least 99%.

Hopefully they are getting rid of the 6/5 JOB machines to make room for the new ones. Be interesting to see what happens. You can read the entire news release by going to your favorite financial website and looking under either Caesers (CET) or International Game Technology (IGT). Lets hope for the best.
