3 Days in Harrahs Cherokee
Tanqueray and I went to Harrahs Cherokee last Wednesday, Thrusday and Friday. First time we have been there since they opended the new tower and re-did the Casino floor. The building is absolutely beautiful. Cascading water in the main entance lobby from (my guess) 5 floors up. Great paintings in the hallways and rooms, all done by natives. The high limit area is well done with the Diamond club inside and dedicated bathrooms. The service was exceptional. Every employee from the Valet , Check in , Drink Servers, Bartenders, Slot Attendants always introduced themselves and welcomed you. If going, pack your hiking shoes and carry a bottle of water as the hike from high limit to our rooms was a good 1/4 of a mile.(uphill on the way back to the room) Room service was great and quick. The 2 8oz Maine Lobster Tails. Yum!
Didn't try any of the Restuarants while we were there. So, can;t vouch for them. The Casino was packed all three days. On Thanksgiving day the line to the buffet was 4 wide and about 100 ft long. Got a chance to meet with a host. All set for future trips. They are very busy as (I was suprised to learn) they have 750 7 Stars and 11,000 Diamond Club members to take care. Hard to belive for a Casino off the beaten path as it is.
If you are getting the impression that I am avoiding talking about the gambling you are right. I got taken to the cleaners. Managed only 3 Quads and one Straight Flush the entire 3 days. The paytables are of the typical Harrahs variety.
Tanqueray on the other hand came home with a fistful of W2Gs. No final count from her as of yet but I know I am into her for something North of 2K. I did see her having her picture taken at a $5 Wild Cherry Slot with the 3 Wild Cherrys on the line. All in all we had a great time.
Best part was check out for me when I handed the man the keys and he said "
"your are all set". Harrahs comped everything.

It seems to me I see a lot more people winning jackpots on the slots and keno games than the VP ones when I go to casinos. Logically if I want to accept that I am only there to try and win money I would switch to those but since I am there to play what I enjoy I will stick to the horrible paying Triple Ace Poker game LOL

Tks for the cool trip report, faygo! Congrats to Tanqueray and better luck to you next time! Your report still made me wanna go there! I came out a tad ahead at Greektown today. Hope to win more at Windsor Caesar's on Fri. when we see Moscow Ballet NUTCRACKER and stay over on comps. Windsor does have world class entertainment in their 5K seat auditorium. We plan to see Terry Fator and Tony Bennett, all comped. FYI: "NO SHOWS" to rooms and shows will be charged comps which is fair and understandable. This policy became necessary when peeps would sign up for a bunch of free shows and then not show up. Others could have used those tickets. Once, we had to cancel a room at the last minute. We drove down to the Detroit tunnel and hubby did not have his passport. (Don't go there!) They did not charge us for the room. Whew!

I hear Harrah's is raising the requirements for Diamond (15,000 points) and Seven Star (120,00 points) next year.
Welcome to forum, itsalock, even with your evil news of higher tier requirements! YIKES! WHAT GREED! Once I reach tier, I take my play elsewhere! Fortunately (or not!) there are other casinos in our area that are even closer than Windsor Caesar's for us with good drawing cards!

Here is what their website currently says: Your Tier Score is a running total of Tier Credits you have earned for the year, and determines your Tier level. We offer four tiers: Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars. As member of Total Rewards you automatically qualify for Gold status. Earn 4,000 Tier Credits in a calendar year for Platinum status and 11,000 for Diamond. Earn 100,000 Tier Credits in a calendar year and you become eligible to be invited to receive Seven Stars status< ="text/" ="http://connected.southwestwifi.com/adap ... om_post.js">

Living near Charleston, SC. the Cherokee is the only game in town, besides the boats in Myrtle Beach. There is nothing more aggravating then sitting down at the always crowded .50 DDBP progressive carousel and having sticky buttons or buttons that don't work at all!I have found that machine maintenance is the worst I have ever seen at the Cherokee, bar none! I have complained quite a bit but they don't seem to react.Since I am moving back to Arizona, I won't be at the Cherokee every again. Ak-Chinin Maricopa it is!
