Webmaster
Why do you have these silly, ridiculous, fully unnecessary companion websites appear with the regular website if someone is not a paying member? Do you realize how stupid they are? How objectionable they are? Is this the catalyst, that you think, or your employers believe, will propel others to PAY for the privilege of upgrading? Try harder, lol.

It is expensive to run a web site such as this one. We feel that in addition to a paid membership, it's important to continue to offer a free membership as well. In order to do so, we run ads that help pay for your use of the site. There are 3rd party companies that manage the advertising inventory. Sometimes a specific advertiser will pay to be listed on this site, but more often they are paying the 3rd party company in order to be listed on a number of web sites and VideoPoker.com receives only a portion of that revenue. Because there are literally thousands of advertisers on multiple ad networks, the content varies greatly. The intention is not to be annoying, but to generate enough revenue to continue to run the web site for people who do not wish to pay the 7 cents a day for silver membership or 22 cents a day for Gold. We do realize these ads can be annoying at times, but see it as a reasonable alternative to paying the small fee. It seems some advertisers think their annoying ads are effective in marketing their products. Obviously many will disagree with that, and you are welcome to express that to the company running the ads. The experience on this site is certainly much improved without ads and we feel it is worth the small price, but we will continue to offer the free service with ads as the alternative and we hope you enjoy the site whether you choose to pay or not.

I've paid in the past, twice, and I will, most likely, again. I'm elsewhere from Las Vegas, and North America, half the year. I used the words "stupid", and "objectionable" in describing many, many of the ads. My descriptions stand. Thank you for your reply.

Webman,
In an effort to pay my fair share, and still maintain my "freeloader" status, would it help if I clicked on more ads? Are your advertisers "pay per click"?
Thanks,
CK
