Nice hit. To bad that you did not stick with TDB, though.

You waited 55 minutes and then you tipped them? For shame. The attendants need to learn that strong players will tip ONLY for excellent service. When they FINALLY arrived, I would have said, "Too bad you didn't get here any faster --- I was planning on a nice tip. Please remember me and next time speed things up a bit and I'll make it worth your while." And I would have added a friendly smile to keep it positive, rather than sounding whiny.
Giving a tip simply because you won $2,000 is nothing more than giving your money away. YOU OWE THEM NOTHING. A tip buys service, or at least rewards service. Don't believe for a second that a savvy attendant is not going to find a way to hurry for a good tipper, even if he/she bumps you to the head of the line at the cashier's station.
I have had jackpots split between cash and check and sometimes even some complicated withholding, and still I have rarely ever waited more than 15 or 20 minutes. Frankly, Milmont, instead of tipping you should have complained to your host or the slot manager on duty.

While I agree 55 minutes is pretty f-ng long time to wait for a hand pay that is only 2 grand, I think milmont did mention something like there were people ahead of him, and since 2 grand is on the low end of handpays, the ones ahead of him probably were for larger amounts. Also to consider is what time of the day is this, how crowded the place is, how much staff is on duty, and how far the cage is from his machine. I find it disturbing how reluctant people are to tip, or how ready (even eager) they are to find a reason NOT to tip, and then defend the decision with such conviction, vigor and self righteousness. TIPS have been around for a long time, and it is regarded by service induustries as an "UNWRITTEN RULE"....why do you think restaurants AUTOMATICALLY add a tip to bills and groups of people above a certain threshold if it is NOT a requirment? Casinos are a Service Industry, so it behooves us to tip..... Now, how much you tip is another story. In this case I might have tipped a little less, say 10-15 bucks a person aAND stated exactly what rascal suggested about telling them to speed it up next time. But I would NEVER NOT tip a hand pay no matter what.....afterall, whether you believe in karma or not, that person paying you the hand pay just had EVERYTHING of importance about you and your personal info for a long period of time! (Drivers License, Social Security, other personal info etc.) This is one of the simplest, straightforward ways identity theft might, and does, occur! this may sound paranoid or farfetched but I wouldnt give anyone like that any reason to be angry with me! They could, just to be a menace or for vindictiveness' sake, send the IRS some concocted B.S. about you winning $20,000 (or even 200k) instead of a mere 2 grand! LOL Wouldnt that be a shtty thing to do, but they could always simply say or claim "oops I goofed, sorry! I must have added a zero, or forgot a decimal" etc etc In AUgust of 2011, I actually had a 1520 dollar progressive hit on 25 cent JOB in the TROP AC. The handpay took about 35 minutes total time, not exactly speedy. But it was a kindly OLD lady who looked like Oprah's grandma who paid me, and she clearly had trouble walking, and if anyone knows the TROP AC, the cage is wayyyyyy on the north side of the casino floor, quite a hike from where I was sitting. So I just took it in stride, focussed on her kindly disposition, and tipped her 30 bucks. She was very grateful and even gave me a little peck on the cheek, just like someone's grandma! C'mon, where;s your heart? It's like Bib Duncer saying he "NEVER TIPS FOR DRINKS"......I mean, why not???? How miserable and ornery and selfish a disposition do you need to have to take that attitude and position, to not be able to part with a measly 50 cents at least? It's a proven fact, if you treat people nicely and with respect and generosity, it generally will come back to you in like manner. OH, and CONGRATS ON THE HIT SIR!!!! BUT BE CAREFUL with those reloads lol! That can get really expensive in the long haul! Its best to stick to your limit and come back again later when you bust out....but this time you nailed it so good one!

He didn't cut it off. His picture is too big and you have to scroll to see all of it.
And waiting 55 minutes? Yeah, even though I am generally generous, I would have to consider not tipping here unless it looks clear that they are terribly understaffed and they are working their butt off. But also I have a feeling I would be tipping regardless since it would be my very first handpay.

Great hit Milmont, sometimes Lady Luck smiles and we need to exercise good judgement and take the hint to get the heck out of Dodge.
I will refrain from straying off topic about fraudulent W2-G's, telling people what to do with THEIR money, being nasty toward Bob Dancer, et al.
