Quick Quads Story

Post by jetermacaw »

I was at Harrah's AC yesterday playing my favorite QQs mach. 5 play Double Bonus. Started at the same mach. that I hit 2 royals a couple weeks ago. $140.00 coin in and did not hit one 4oak, and worse yet not on QQ. The only thing going through my head while this was happening was DaBurglar was right. Left there, went over to the 3 9/6 JB that I always can spend some time on, same thing, nothing head spinning,  DaBurglar was right. Went to my room , got wife, went to dinner and vowed to only play $60.00 more dollars. Went back to QQs, only 1 mach. open, not the one I usually play. Started playing, same thing, nothing, complete drain o. down to about $5.00 and hit first QQ. now I know mach. isn't broken. Started to hit flushes straights, etc. to keep me in the game. Then the QQs started to come, first slowly then a lot. Even got dealt 2 QQs on a dead hand re-deal, never had that happen before. Then, 4 oak 2s on the deal, a few hands later 4oak 3s on the deal and the 4oak aces on the deal. Now my head is spinning the other way saying DaBurglar was wrong when I'm dealt 4 to the royal, held my breath and hit the button, nothing, not even a pair. Punched out the ticket, $520.00 and left. U never know.

My guess is DaBurglar was there when you started your first rounds so the casinos put in the chips that take away your money faster. Then you went up to get your wife and they received an alert that DaBurglar had left the premises to take a nap. They hurried to switch the chips back to the ones that return quite well. Either that or you changed your socks in the room and the new ones were more effective. I do not have enough information to decide if that was the cause, or my first suspicion. It's a full moon so it could even be something I haven't figured out yet.

Whatever it was, good job. That sounds like an exciting run of Quick Quads.

good run Jeter, but you know the mutliline gimmick games like QQ  dreamcard  STP  Goodtimes  etc  are extremely volatile to begin with so they are not useful for analysis..... But Eduardo was right, I was in AC when u played (I was there May 21 thru 24) but not at Harrahs, but I will start playing in Harrahs when I do end up in AC in the future because my recent fact finding and research has revealed a lot of interesting things (not good things for us players but interesting all the same)  Read my post dated today (may 25) in the "Showboat"  thread which will touch upon in greater detail what I am saying here I have not played at harrahs in my 4 years in AC, only a bare minimum.  I have no data on it, but the people I know who do play there have enjoyed what is clearly 'normal' results in VP, a good healthy mix of winning and losing that falls right in line with mathematical expectations.   And part of me already knows why this is the case, that Harrahs in AC is ok with regards VP while the boardwalk places are not good places to play.....Harrahs (#2) and Borgota (#1) are the two top successful casinos in AC....... BY FAR.   Harrahs AC does not need to set its Video Poker (slot) machines any worse than what its paytables advertise, no need for them to take down any of their VP (slot) machines into the 90-91% RTP range that some of the machines in the Boardwalk hotels plunge to!    Now it doesnt mean that Harrahs does not currently have any of its VP (slot) machines set lower than its advertised paytable odds, but judging by the more "normal" results coming out of Harrahs, whereby many more players seem to win than compared to the boardwalk players, I'd say very few of Harrahs VP-slot machines have their payable hand expectation rate (i.e. the "dud" rate in reverse) set below the expected average rate of around 45.4% for most games (give or take).

First off, what denomination were you playing? (It's important to include that you know). Assuming quarters on a 5 play QQ machine, that would be $7.50/deal. And you would expect $140 to last how long??? Even at nickels ($2.50/deal), I would not expect $140 to last very long either.

You are experiencing the normal volatility of the game. No rigging, coolers, or magic pixie dust needed by the casinos for this to occur. It's just the math of the game.
