July 4th Vegas Weekend

Post by BillyJoe »

Well, just returned from Vegas, and my first July 4th weekend there. It was cool - or rather, VERY hot - 110 each day. The Caesars BBQ and Fireworks on the 4th were fantastic. They had us down by the pools, and the theme of the gathering was a big beach party. The band was a Beach Boys look-alike group, which really looked and sounded like the real thing. AND, I won $1776 in FreePlay in a drawing !!

My niece from Colorado came out to join me, and we had a great time. Saw Celine (terrific show!), LOVE, had a pool cabana day (with the water misters on FULL BLAST) and a Spa day. We went to The Homestead (Caesars) and Prime (Bellagio) for our big dinner nights. Very good eats.

Had a decent trip gaming, but no big, huge wins. I had a lot of handpays in the $1200 - $2000 range. Here are a couple of pics of some of the interesting hands.

-----
This one I owe to SinNH from this site. She told me about this machine over at Harrahs. I went over to play it for a while one afternoon. While sitting there, I heard someone behind me say "BillyJoe?". It was SinNH     We chatted for a while, and after she left, about a minute later, I got this..

----

This was a DreamCard machine over at Bellagio playing DDB. Would have liked the kicker dealt, but at least I drew one of them..

------
Next trip is Friday, off to the North Carolina mountains, with a day trip over to Cherokee for some golf and gaming. On the way back, I am stopping at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi for a golf event, and of course, some gaming.

Billyjoe,Glad you had a good time and had some winners.  I turned my laptop sideways so I could view your pics.  It looks like you had some good hits.I'm going to Vegas late July, early August.  How was Love?   - I'm going to see it and want to know if it is worth my time.  Keep winning at the Beau.

LOVE is not my favorite Cirque show, but the Beatles' music is great. I had seen it previously, but my niece wanted to see it. Tickets were comped for us.

Billyjoe,Thanks for the info.  I have free tickets from MLife so I thought I'd try it out.  If its boring, I'll just leave quietly. As long as I don't have to wear high heels, I'm  a happy camper.  It should be fun even if it's not great.  I grew up listening to the Beatles so at least I'll enjoy the music.More pictures from the Beau showing your wins, please.  Seeing the wins always makes me optimistic.

No, LOVE is not a walk out show, it is just that the story line is a bit convaluted, and the acrobatics are pretty tame by Cirque standards. The music is great, though, with some Beatles recording studio material chatter.

I will do my best to not disappoint you at The Beau, and post some wins.

I heard about your hit at Harrahs later in the day.  I think I should get a finders fee.

My trip was awful gaming wise.  Started off bad with travel troubles and went down hill from there.  Hopefully next week is better for me.

It was nice meeting you and maybe we'll run into each other again.  If you need someone to play golf with in Vegas give me some notice and if the timing works my husband will be willing.

OK - let me think about your finder's fee..... done thinking, nothing came up.  But it was very nice meeting and chatting with you.

Sorry your gaming results were poor. I did pretty well, but no huge payouts.

It will need to get a LOT cooler in Vegas for me to play golf there, so later this year, it could be a plan.

Billyjoe,Love is not a walk out so I guess I'll stay and enjoy it - saves money gambling and should be good.  Thanks for the heads up!I hope it's cooler in Vegas at the end of the July.  I hope to go to South Point and try out their deuces wild games.  Better paytables than on the strip and could be fun.Good luck everyone in all your gaming.
