I have read that a midwest casino will be offering online gambling soon. Anyone else aware of others doing the same?

I know it definitely will not be one of the Illinois casinos. As far as I know, the states that do/will soon offer online gambling are making it so that only computers located in that state will be able to partake in it. So far it may only be Nevada and New Jersey.

there is a slew of proxy servers and other workarounds now being cooked up that will allow people in various states where gambling is still illegal to gamble online in states where it IS legal....and so help me if our Federal government and /or congress comes up with or incites a federal agency to "go after" such citizens, I'm defecting to North Korea!  Seriously, the next cottage industry will be sites offering themselves as "go betweens" or brokers for people wanting to gamble online in states where online gambling is legal but who live in states still living in the 20th century......!

If online gambling becomes a reality it is going to void any and all gaming compacts. That will costs states billions of dollars I doubt that would happen.  But then again the goverment has gone back on their word to the tribes before.

In the same compacts I mentioned the tribes are expressly forbidden from offering on line gambling. So you see the delemma here. It will not happen.

But it states that it is set up to go in September......I don't think it's like the online gambling that was banned in the US.It may be just part of the casino's website, but they are offering credits that can be purchased to use for play.I wonder if they know it will nullify their agreement?

What will probably happen is it will start running the tribes will get an *****ction in federal court. Then it will take years to litigate.

Online gambling is here to stay, and whether or not it impacts or even harms existing casino operations and corporations in the various cities and states and tribal areas across the nation is now irrelevant.   That is one of the reasons online gambling has been unavailable legally in the USA up to now, the effort and desire by the powers that be to protect existing brick and mortar casinos.....but that has now run its course, as the force of time and change now makes online gambling a irresistible force;  too many people want online gambling and it now behooves the government to implement policies and legislation that allow the government, at all levels (state, federal.....hell even county and city if possible) to regulate and (most importantly) TAX the living daylights out of any new revenue streams online gambling generates. But here is the issue:   EXISTING Brick and Mortar casinos should not (and many HAVE not) look upon online gambling as a mortal enemy or even an inconvenient business dilemma that they have to somehow accomodate.......Online gaming can and should be a future integral part of a existing casino's business plan and a engine for growth.   At the very least it can help improve and refine the service and quality of a casino's existing business and allow customers a wider range of options when they visit their properties.  If they cannot visualize this then they deserve to be put out of business! I'm looking forward to it, and I believe most people share my view....the simple fact is this, that anyone who wants or is inclined to visit the property of any given hotel / casino will continue to be so inclined and continue to visit whether or not they offer online gambling.   Put another way, people who like visiting Vegas, or AC, or Reno will continue to visit simply because the internet cannot bring the entirety of the experience of visiting a casino property, only the gambling, and even that is limited.   Online gambling has the capacity and ability to HELP exisiting casinos further serve and exploit existing customer bases, IF done properly.
