Best 25 cent AC Progressive?
Anyone else in here bother to play the eight machines in Caesars AC that have the DOUBLE JOKER progressive? At 25 cents, the jackpot STARTS at 2000 (not 1000)! This seems to be a really good value, but I forgot what the rest of the paytable looks like so I need to remember to write it down next time I go so I can accurately evaluate it.....but starting the jackpot at 2000 is still pretty generous, dont ya think? This is a small example of a POSITIVE thing about AC I picked up on and is the type of thing they need to do more of, to drawback the crowds they have lost

The best for me if they are still there are the quarter triple play bonus poker machines at Bally's. Our last trip there in September hit royal on middle game for just under $1200 and held my own for the rest of the time I played it.
It's a great way to rack up tier credits with very little risk. Our next trip to AC will be in the late Spring of next year. With the massive changeover to the new machines, does anyone know if they are still there?

We go to AC about 3 times a year and stay at Caesars. The bank of DDJ machines back by the Toga Bar (6 machines) do start at $2,000. We have hit it several times before our trip in early October. When it reached $2080 or so start playing. It would pay off 4 or 5 times in our four night stay. BUT in October, it never paid off once while we were there for four nites. Was over $2700 when we left.

Considering what you believe about new jersey law, not sure why you'd care about the paytable, DaBurglar. But for those who do believe that paytables solely dictate payback, the game is the best in AC at 99.91% before the progressive.

It is not a question of belief anymore, it is what I KNOW about NJ regs and slots and where VP fits in the mix. But as is typical, you fail to see my entire point, or the entire picture, and zero in on an ABSOLUTE interpretation. Here's the deal: NJ law definitely states that VP is simply another form of Slot Machine. My play results, and now the statements of people who work in both the gaming office and the casinos confirm that Casinos CAN and DO set some of their VP machines to return percentages LOWER than what the paytables indicate, all the way down to the lowest allowable SLOT percentage. Notice I said "SOME" vp machines.....the people in the gaming office on Tennesse Avenue made it clear to me that Casinos can set their machines to whatever they want, but that it is likely that in the case of VP machines, many machines are left alone since, if they jammed all of their VP machines into the lower end of pay return percentage, nobody would play VP anymore. However, VP has lost a lot of its appeal for the casinos as a part of their business, so many are choosing to eliminate VP or slash paytables instead. But some choose to do a MIX of things, have some machines remain inviolate, slash some paytables and/or set the machine to return a slot-like percent in the low 90s or even lower. As pressure mounts to maintain profits in the face of CONTINUOUSLY falling revenue and visitors, obviously more and more AC casinos are opting to set the return percentages lower on VP machines to squeeze a few more drops of profit out of VP players. After four years of playing and keeping meticulous records, I know that many (not ALL but many) of the machines I have played are dealing far more zero value/dud hands than the typical "normal" machine would deal, its that simple. It is not bad luck, or a cold spell or a whole crapload of errors on my part....these machines just operate different. Believe me or not, this is my experience and my conclusion based on EVERYTHING I have seen, heard, learned and deduced. I strongly encourage you to do your own research, your own digging and playing, instead of just disagreeing with me simply because what I am now stating conflicts or fails to jive with the abject faith you have put in VP being exactly what you expect all this time and all these years. And for the record, as far as I know and can tell, what New Jersey/AC does with its VP is NOT, repeat, NOT what other gambling localities are doing, especially (and obviously) Nevada, and I still have total faith in the games in Nevada and the few other NON-AC casinos I have played at (or will play at in the future.)
