Four Royals in Four Hours!

Post by TIMSPEED »

So we were at Sams Town this past weekend. My wife and I hit FOUR Royals in FOUR hours, playing next to each other. The MORE unbeiliveable part was, they were all different suits! We hit these at the QuickQuads that are right next to Dunkin Donuts.http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/ ... ollage.jpg

that is awesome and amazing at the same time...... wow.   what makes it even more amazing in my mind is it was on a multi line Quick Quad game!      I have played that game extensively and never hit squat, and here you are hitting four royals in quick proximity! How was the game as far as hitting the Quads, which is the whole point of playing that game in the first place?   Did you hit a "higher frequency of quads" as the game advertises??   Were they Quick Quads or regular quads or a healthy mix of both?   Now mind you, when I have played this game it is in Atlantic city at Taj, and Harrahs, whereas you played in Vegas at Sams Town.......so that no doubt explains part of my futility. Do you always play nickels or do you ever shark it up to higher denominations?   with that hot streak maybe you should try quarters at least?          Congrats again

Congrats to you and your wife, that was a nice way to spend 4 hours. I noticed in some of your other pictures that you also sometimes play at different denominations; anything from .02 up to .50 and you've had some luck there.

Akways remember to play at a denomination level that you are comfortable with.

Congrats again.

And none of those came from 4 to a Royal...wow, that is crszy.Right! And the funny part was..that Heart Royal was third..and we were ABOUT to leave (The first two Royals, I cashed out the $200 and put the rest back in the machine), cuz we were out of money in the machines (But had the $400 in my wallet) and BAM! Heart Royal! So I took that $200 and put $100 back in my wallet and my wife and Is split $100 and kept going. Then she said "Well damn, all we need is a Diamond Royal to get them all."So I said "Well, hit it hit now" and WHAM! Up pops the Diamond Royal! LOLOn the Quads...yes, we ALSO got DEALT QuickQuads FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES, as well as a ton of other quads.

Geeez......."a ton" of quads........I obviously have no idea how many total hands you played, but as I said, I have played this game extensively at the TAj and HArrah's in AC.   Harrahs had the upright machines, the Taj has one (1) tabletop version of this game.    Although, I believe someone said that Harrah's recently banished their Quick Quad games.... Anyway, between the two places and two styles of Quick Quad machines, I have played a total of  43,000+ hands in the past 15 months....always 3 handed, with about 60% of my hands at 25 cent denom and the other 40% at 5 cent denom like you.  Almost all the hands were played with a 7/5 Bonus Poker Quick Quad game, which is the best paytable they have in AC for Quick Quad..... I have received 99 total quads, 44 quick quads and 55 regular quads......and no royals as I mentioned.    Now this number and frequency of quads, if this were plain old regular Bonus Poker, would not be too far off from expected results .)   99 quads out of slightly more than 43000 hands works out to a quad frequency of about  once every 440 hands (1/440)    Normally you'd expect about a quad every 425 hands or so. BUT....this is QUICK QUADS, so I should have received far more quads than I did, specifically of the QUICK QUAD variety...!!   Granted the strategy for QQ is more involved than Bonus Poker, and I am not as proficient at QQ yet as I am at "regular" video Poker like BP, JOB or DDB.    But I am definitely strong at QQ by now, and I have practiced extensively at home so my error rate is very low, definitely not an explanation for me missing so many quads!   If I happen to encounter a hand during a session that I do not readily know the correct play, I try to find out using my cell phone/internet connection without drawing attention from slot people or the overhead camera......this slows things down a lot obviously but its worth it in the long run.    I do not have an app for QQ yet on my phone. I believe its just another example of "AC" being "AC", and if and when I play Quick Quads in Vegas like you did at Sam's town, I'll get results more in line with expectations, and well worth the extra credit(s) wagered on this "gimmick" game!

Wow DaBurglar you have had some bad luck with Quick Quads and I hope it improves for you when you are in Las Vegas. I myself have a trip to Las Vegas planned in the next 2 months and I hope you report back with good Quick Quad results and then I will be hopeful for my trip.

you can call it bad luck, thats what I used to think and what I thought at first when it began happening back in 2009 when I first went to AC after 17 plus years playing in Vegas & Reno and achieving normal expected results and returns there....sometimes I even finished UP for the year when I played in Nevada (1997, 1999 and 2002 were profitable years, 2001 I basically broke even, and the other years I lost but not in the horrendous one-sided manner or degree I have experienced the last several years in AC.) No, its something more than simple rotten luck, and a number of my friends and family who likewise play video poker and play in both markets (AC & Nevada) agree that there is a fundamental difference  in how many VP machines function in AC versus other locations.   And my results and research into this subject lead me to conclude what I have already shared with everyone here many times before...... If you visit AC make sure you stop by the Gaming control office on Tennessee avenue one block down from the Taj and Resorts, and ask them simple direct questions along these lines.....
