Super Bowl plans

Post by DaBurglar »

I am going to be in AC from January 28 thru the Super Bowl.....the Taj invited me to a Poker event for Super Bowl weekend, including some free Poker Money (basically a 20% bonus on my cash game buy-in up to $500), which, after I fulfill the time requirement for play, I may just cash it out and use it to go over to the Borgata and play in their Daily Tournament on Monday February 3, the day after the superbowl! I want to see what new protocols they have in place after this awful scandal they just had!  Then, if I am feeling well enough, I am going to leave AC on the Fourth of february and shoot over the Philadelphia, hop on a plane and spend 5 nights in VEGAS!!!     First time in over 2-1/2 years I have been to Vegas after years of spending lots of time there!   I just hope they dont lose or bust my wheelchair on the plane, and they dont hassle me thru airport security!    I am waiting for the day they make me take my hearing aids out while they pat me down!!!     This is one of the primary reasons I curtailed my vegas trips and attempted to enjoy my ganbling fun in AC starting back in february of 2009..... I will be staying at my favorite Vegas haunts downtowm, namely the Golden nugget (which I feel is just as nice and has many advantages over the best strip properties, without all the BS or ridiculous overpricing), and I will spend at least one night in the historic Fremont (one of the most notorious MOB casinos of the 60s and 70s!) what is everyone else up to for Super bowl and shortly thereafter????

I don't have nearly as grandiose a Superbowl weekend planned. I am not going through the Superbowl nor am I shooting over the Philadelphia.

THANKS, whoever you are....   I was hoping someone else could see what is/was going on here (besides me) and see that I am refusing to respond to his provocations.   The guy really needs help...... If you are ever in AC, I am buying you a drink and or lunch!

I didn't realize I was stalking, I was merely responding to a forum posting, no different than you did. My sincerest apologies sir. Or ma'am.

No big plans for super bowl or pot bowl as some are calling it. I do want to comment on your preference for the downtown area of Vegas.  I was in LV from 1969 to 1971.  DaBurglar, if we could sit and talk boy oh boy could I tell you a story about a night at the Four Queens. Thank you for bringing back that memory for me.  Hoping you have a safe trip lots of fun and much luck on your VP play.

I hope that you have a great time. Airports are a hassle, no doubt about it.

Thank you for bringing back that memory for me.  Hoping you have a safe trip lots of fun and much luck on your VP play. Thanks vpwillis!     Why cant you share your four queens story anyway?   let the whole forum community enjoy it!   I suggest finding the "vegas memories" thread floating around here somewhere, or else just post it in the Vegas section or even in this thread despite it being AC chit chat!  I will need the "good luck" you wished me most of all in AC when playing either the POKER N/L holdem tournaments, or if I get super bored in between tourney time and decide to putz around with the Video Poker once again.....in AC where I will be staying (trump Taj and Resorts) the best video poker options are the dozens of 8/5 Bonus Poker games spread throughout Resorts, or the Showboats bank of 8 fullpay machines (which only pay tier credits at a sickly 50 bucks per point rate!)    My routine while in AC will be to rise early and wheel down to the Jitney stop in front of the TAJ, ride over to Harrah's and see what their tournament action is for the day, and if it sucks I will wheel over to Borgata and play in their daily tourney(ies).....If I get knocked out early (like Billyjoe, I also NEVER do rebuys or re-entries) I may play some $2 - $5 cash N/L holdem or Omaha, if there is a game going.  One of the days obviously will be spent playing poker at the Taj itself, but that has become an iffy proposition since their poker room has lost most of its clientele to other rooms in AC, mainly Borgata and Harrahs.    I hope they are giving the same poker incentive to everyone, not just a few people like me.I will play some VP at Borgata this time around and see what I can do, and see what offers  I might get in the mail later on.......JIMDEUCES has me convinced, along with the folks at the gaming office on TENNESSEE Avenue, that Borgata's Video Poker machines are not  "SLOTTIFIED" like many other AC casinos! When I am ready to leave AC and head to the Philly Airport, not only will my physical well being be a factor but also the weather as to when, how and IF I fly to Vegas after the Super Bowl.....this latest batch of Arctic madness is cramping a lot of peoples' style........As much as I hate airports, dealing with weather delays and problems makes the misery index jump 7 fold, like getting a "7X" on  DDB  Good Times Pay and being dealt   5h   6d   8c  3s  10h !As to where and how I will watch the actual Stupor Bowl game feb 2 , right now I am still ruminating on my options.....its a huge debate which is the best SPORTS BAR in AC, but I have always been partial to the Tropicana's  "ADAM Good Sports Bar" in the Havana tower and the Quarter......I think it is sad and no better example of AC's tragic waste than to see the Tropicana's Havana Tower and the Quarter, see all that it has to offer and how awesome it could be, and yet it is woefully under patronized!

I hope that you have a great time. Airports are a hassle, no doubt about it. Danke  William joseph, for the well wishes.......what are your SUPER DUPER Bowl plans???And what is your all time favorite Vegas establishment?    I know you must be a Strip guy, so let me just say my favorite STRIP casinos are the Riviera (gotta love those Mafia Ghosts)  and the MIRAGE (for sentimental reasons.....back in 1992 when I first arrived on the west coast and started working, my job took me to vegas often and I did some work and sales for the Mirage and Treasure Island during those glory days of 1992, 1993 and 1994 just as Vegas was taking off.....Wynn essentially kick started the whole boom times era with his two flagships, and I was lucky enough to have a company as a customer that truly was a "high end" client, they wanted the best of everything for their operations and customers, so they bought the best marketing programs and materials and promotional items....)I could do with out all the overdone monstrosities that followed during the early 2000s, like Aria, M, Cosmopolitan ...even Wynn's latter years projects like Encore.....just too much, way too much.     If vegas could have stopped after Paris, Bellagio and Venetian, it would be ideal....
