I concur with this rumor, I have heard similar stories from other customers who play much deeper than I do at places like Revel and the Taj, plus a JITNEY driver I am friends with who knows all the scuttlebutt in AC said this might eventually happen ......! back in December when AC Club announced it was going out of business and some people I was with on the Jitney ride thought Hard Rock might purchase the AC Club, the driver said Hard rock would get a better deal from the state of New Jersey if they rescued the Revel from the inevitable oblivion it is heading into (and in turn, rescued the State of New jersey and the City of A.C. too!)A long time ago Jimdeuceswild once posted a comment (or a thread) about how Hard rock was looking to get into the AC market, and I recall as far back as 2010 that there was actually a parcel of land not far from the current Revel location that Hard Rock was looking to develop into a new HARD ROCK boutique hotel/casino......before the work was begun to finish and open the half built Revel, in 2010 I recall reading in the AC Press that discussions were held to allow HArd Rock to purchase and complete the half built Revel; that deal never came to fruition obviously, but I bet a lot of people (like Chris Chrisite) wish they could have closed the deal with HArd Rock back then! In fact, I wish that had come to pass too! I have not spent anytime worth mentioning in the Revel since it opened and I find that sad.....but it just was such a boondoggle from the get go, and currently has nothing to offer most players that other established properties cant offer in a much better manner....

Some more Revel rumors...
Caesars could bid for Revel in Atlantic City, sources say
Caesars Entertainment Corp. could submit a bid for the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., sources say. Revel emerged from bankruptcy last year, but has struggled to find customers, as it lacks ties to a larger organization. Caesars Entertainment has a four-property portfolio in Atlantic City, purchased the Atlantic Club facility, and is building a convention center in the city as well. In December, it was reported that Hard Rock International is also interested in the property.

Now now billyjoe, you DO know that Caesars is being crushed by a mountain of debt? Why would they take a white elephant such as this on? Inquiring Atlantic City minds want to know.

At a Caesars 7Star event in AC a couple of years ago, Gary Loveman told me that he would love to 'dump' Ballys and Showboat in AC, buy Revel, and keep Caesars and Harrahs Marina.
