So Harrahs AC has been making lots of changes to their casino floor since late November. Well they may have just lost on of their biggest VP players.
Since November the number of 1 dollar 10 handed STP VP machines has gone from 8 or more down to 2.
I firmly believe that not having more choices has really cut not only the number of jackpots but the size of them.
Thinking its time for me to re-evaluate my AC play and look at what the other venues have.
Your suggestions/observations

roveer I personally have always been faithful to the CET properties but if they aren't cutting it anymore then you need to look elsewhere. I have also been splitting my play between different properties. Whatever you choose, good luck to you my friend.

well first off, let me invite you to join me in leaving AC totally in the dust by the end of thi s spring and join me in making regular journies to Vegas......!But in case you dont want to do that, and in case I change my mind and decide to keep AC on my radar (after I posted earlier I was done with AC, out of no where Trump sends me an email offering a crapload of new, free/comped tidbits and goodies I have never ever received before....has to be coincidence right?)........may I suggest the following:If Super Times Pay is your game, Resorts has several complete BANKS of these machines playable at all denominations from 5 cents thru 1 dollar, with a few going up to 5 bucks (two machines also have $2 credits available as a setting).....I have posted a lot concerning what Resorts has to offer to straightforward, no-nonsense players like you and me, but here are some reminders: Resorts only charges 5 bucks per night for comped rooms via the annoying NJ tourism and resort fees, instead of the 13 or 15 dollar fees at Caesars and Trump properties; Resorts has a few of the best restaurants in AC casinos (especially Gallaghers, which has not only awesome steak and beef dishes, but excellent sandwiches and appetizer selections, all at low prices so you dont blow all your comp dollars or real dollars); and speaking of comp dollars, Resorts has the best (and least confusing) comp dollar accumulation systems in AC.....Video Poker is only at a 3/2 disadvantage to slots instead of the usual 2/1, that is to say, instead of 5 dollars coin in on a slot machine earming one point and 10 dollars coin in on VP earning one point, it is only $7.50 coin on the VP machine at Resorts....this is something I only recently learned, but nice nonetheless.Resorts is easily one of the more accessible and least muddled properties in terms of its layout in all of AC, and it is connected to the TAJ (thru the TAJ, SHOWBOAT), and both TAj and SHowboat have lots of your Super Times PAY machines......with the level you play at Roveer, I think you will reign at the top of the player tier at Resorts, instead of simply being "just another highroller" at HArrah's/Caesars, bringing to mind the adage "better to reign in hell than serve in heaven", meaning whatever perceived step "DOWN" playing at Resorts might bring to mind is made up for by having the hosts totally kiss your arse to a level they never would at HArrahs.......I dont know if that appeals to you or not but I threw it in there! The only other thing I can think of is to take your Seven Star CAesars tier and head over to the Tropicana-AC, and chat with one of their high level player hosts and see what they can do for you....I have not been near the Tropicana for over a year, after playing there extensively during 2009 -2011 so I cannot speak for current game selection, but I do remember about 7 or 8 STP machines that had $1 denom games, and as you already know, Tropicana has by far the best shopping and restaurant selection/choice inventory of all AC properties, concentrated in their famous "Quarter" along with the boardwalk level recent additions and improvements.Thats all I have.....but let me ask this: why do you say having only two machines cuts the size and frequency of "jackpots"? were the 8 harrah's machines all progressive?

Can't say I am winning at Mohegan Sun, but they do still offer plenty of 98.5-99.5% games. Those machines at that level mostly are at the quarter level and up. Most will let you bet up to 25 coins at a time. These higher percentage machines do not pay points you can spend, but give you status points. At your level of play, you would probably be level 4 which would offer generous comps, free rooms, free play, shows, trips, lounge access etc. Possible limo or paid for transportation also. If interested, I could get you a competent host etc. Jury is still out IMO if their machines pay according to a strict rng program. My returns are much lower. Could just be bad luck. I see others hitting, but most are grumbling. Seems like a nationwide trend from what I hear. At any rate, good luck. Also Foxwoods is 15 minutes from Mohegan, but for the most part, their return tables are lower.

good post olds....I do not know exactly where roveer lives or where he drives from to get to AC, but given the fact that Resorts-AC and Mohegan Sun are now one and the same company and all their comps and player programs are integrated, your suggestion about getting a limo to take him to Mohegam Sun is feasible since there is also a Mohegan sun property in Pennsylvania!!! but even keeping that in mind, I do know that, for the right customer, both Mohegan Sun-Connecticut AND Foxwoods will pay for and/or provide transportation for people coming up from NY/NJ to the Connecticut forest to play!

May I ask if you don't like where you are playing at CET. Come to Borgata. I like the Borgata very much. IMO they have the best players lounge in AC. They have good shows there. I rarely get comp for shows but then I'm not the high roller. I like for you people to try it and I would like to know what you think. If you far enough away the Borgata will fly you in. Check there website under www.flyborgata.com ..they have the comedy club every night except if there is a headliner show in that theatre.

I agree with everything jimdeuces says concerning Borgata....I too have seen first hand and experienced the superiority of Borgata compared to the rest of AC.....my problem with them and why I never made Borgata the center of my AC universe was simply my physical circumstances, the fact that I always arrive in AC by Bus from New England and the buses (greyhound) have nothing to do with Borgata and the Marina, and Borgata's location in the Marina means that I in my wheelchair am stuck in the marina unless I take the Jitney....its just a hassle I prefer to avoid. But, since I have been plaing poker at Borgata while still staying and basing myself on the boardwalk, I may have finally found the balance to have both parts of AC in my experience.......but now I have to decide to stick with my AC abandonment campaign or give it another Summer????Summer is fun in AC, no doubt about it, I much prefer summer in AC versus cooking in the summer heat of Vegas

I can tell you that I like playing off the boardwalk. For some reason the boardwalk just never resignated with me. And I like CET for the gateway to Vegas. I will tell you that I emailed my host (the host exec) about this reconfiguration and have yet to get a response I'll let everyone know when I get a response.
I think I'm going to put borgata into play at this point.

With your level of play, Roveer, you would be welcome anywhere. I don't know how much you travel, but I find the portability of 7Star status within the CET family as a plus.
Have you talked to anyone in authority at CET in AC? I have had several conversation with Gary Selsner, President of Caesars LV, when I have an issue out there that I feel is beyond the power of the host to fix, and seem to get results. Personally, I skip the whole string of VPs and Directors, since they seem to be more about CYA than fixing problems. I would think that there is a counterpart to Gary for Caesars AC, and I would reach out to him with your concerns about game availability.
