Idea for a Bob Dancer Casino
If this ever gets built, I will be one of the first to go there. A simple but large building made of brick or stone with columns out front like the old banks had. Super easy access to an airport and great no hassle free parking. At least 1/2 of the machines will be vp with no paytables lower than 99%. Regular slots will have paytables at least in the mid 90's. It will be smoke free. The hotel will be simple and clean. No fancy rooms and either free or almost free. Reataurants will be mostly simple and familiar to most people like Cracker Barrel, Subway, Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc. A nice big food court too. None of the prices will be jacked up. There will only be a few stores like a bakery, notions shop, casual or discount clothing story like the Outlets have, etc. No big celebrity shows or event arena. Maybe a small intimate nightclub. For the die hard smokers, a cigar lounge with its own ventilation system and not attached to the casino building. Promos will be very simple and easy to understand. Points earned will be 1 point equals one dollar and can be used for everything on site. Probably more stuff I could think of, but that is about it. Finally, a great course in employee customer service with any constantly rude, gross, or otherwise problem players excluded/banned for good.

I once smoked and completely understand how addicting smoking is...So I try not to make to much of someone smoking near me. But smokers are in the minority by a wide margin and the tables need to be turned...instead of cordoned off smoke free areas...there should be smoking areas cordoned off just for them. Is it going to happen? I don't think so...Casinos need their business and don't want to offend them...So if you're a smoker...try to keep your machine free of ashes and cigarette butts..and do your best to keep your smoke out of the faces of players near you...If I notice someone is trying to keep his or her smoke away form me I don't complain...in fact I appreciate the courtesy...but if they let it roll into my face...I say something and that often makes them very mad...and they remind me...if you don't like smoke... either stay out of casinos or play in a smoke free zone...and then the war is on....

How could I forget the course. I know you will sink that 64 foot putt too Billy, or is it 65 now? I forget. If 65, don't forget to get your medicare card!!! Just finished putting a new coat of laquer on my woods and buffing them out. I have no excuse not to get out there now.

Interesting.I have no intention of owning or running a casino. If I were to change my mind, some of the points here would be incorporated --- some not so much. I'm not ready to spend too much time thinking about the design of something that is never going to be built.Bob

It's a nice theoretical idea, but I would think it likely fails. You need more fat from clueless penny slotters that are willing to consistently donate $200/week like my mother used to...she is just finally cutting back. Some of it is from necessity.

I actually played for a few hours in the Bob Dancer Casino in Vegas a few years ago. I hated it --- everytime I mis-played a hand, one of the attendants would come over and slap my fingers HARD with a wooden ruler, just like the nuns used to do back in primary school. By the time I left that place my hands were numb. I might read Dancer's column, but I will never again go back to his casino unless I have lead gloves on.
