Coushatta 7/6/14

Post by Lucky Larry »

Quick Sunday trip to Coushatta. SweetC and I began on multi-hand playing on opposite corners of six machines. After about 40 minutes she stood up and told me to check my cell phone for a text. This was her RF:

After congratulating her I sent this picture to her 8 minutes later. Yes, I held a A-10. Unfortunately, that was our last big hits over 10 hours of play.

wow larry, what is your secret?    I've NEVER hit a royal on a multiline game ....ever.     You do it every trip it seems.I think my problem is I listen to the experts like Bo dancer.....see he told me not to hold A-10 on the game you were playing.    He would have cost me a royal there.......

DaBurglar,
The secret is timing, timing, timing....luck, luck, luck...and the fact that I only play multi-hand games. Ninety percent of the time I would not hold an A-10 on this game but I got a premonition to hold and I've learned over my 60+ years that my premonitions are right a high percentage. More likely just "positive aura" from being married to Sweet C.

This run of .25¢ RF since we started at this new casino in March has been incredible (six trips-15RF-averaging almost one per/trip) and we know it will end. We've also hit probably another 3 dozen or so 5¢ RF in that time. But playing 20-30-40 hands of low volatility deuces games for hours increases those chances. What has been most surprising has been hitting a RF on just 10-15 hands of quarters!

Arghhh... Another AT royal! At least you "know better"...lol I've seen about 5 of these "AT royals" posted on this and other forums since my last royal. Now I hope my next royal is on a quarter progressive high enough where holding AT suited is correct because I'm too "into the math" to hold it for just a 4000 credit royal...lol

The play isn't that much from optimal though. With a $25 bet...yowza!..the "error cost" is:

No flush or straight penalties: 1.16 cents
Straight penalty: 11 cents
Flush penalty: 38 cents
Both straight and flush penalties: 44 cents

Nice hit nevertheless!

Another reason that I like TDB - no Ten required for a 4000 credit payout..

Video Poker is pure my luck my friend.
If you have $1M bankroll and plan to play hard and long, sure, you can get to the math...
but if you had that much money and time in the beginning...why would you be in the casino in the first place?

Probably for the same reasons I go now. 1) For the joy of playing VP; 2) For the great room and board; 3) To keep from doing the "honey do list"; 4) To spend all of my inheritance before I die and give it away.
