Quick Trip to Tahoe: $400 score!
So since I haven't gambled since July 4th (At Barona in San Diego), the wife had some pity on me, and we took a day trip.
Nice drive up Highway 4 (Through Caleveras Big Tree's)and ended up in Lake Tahoe..
So, first, we stopped at Harvey's, to our dismay, there weren't 2 seats open at The Avalanche Bar (They have 8/5 Bonus Poker). So we went through the tunnel (under Highway 50) to Harrah's. In their HighLimit room, they have a multiplay 25c 8/5 BonusPoker QuickQuads.
We started out just playing 1-line, and very quickly hit a couple QQ (444A3, and TTT55). So we started playing 5-line ($7.50 a shot) Not a couple minutes later, wife hit the button and was dealt this:
DealtQQ
So, we had only put in $100, so we played it down to $500 and called it a day.
Not too bad for a quick day trip!!

Nice win Timspeed. Tahoe has tons of good machines at both Harrah's and Harvey's. Thank you for pointing out your success on that machine. I have never played it before and will be sure and look for it on my next trip.

Nice hit Tim!
Yeah, 8/5 Bonus w/QQ (99.55%) is technically better return than 9/6 JoB, but it is more variance with basically the same return. But at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, multiline quarters would take care of that for sure since they say 9/6 JoB is at the the $5 level for minimum 3 play...
8/5 Bonus w/QQ strategy is here:

I also got my first dealt QQ on a multi line game this year...it was for 6-line pennies though.

Vman, they also have $1 triple play 9/6 JOB at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. If you have never played there you need to go. Not only is Tahoe a great place to visit with endless things to do year round, it is a video poker players paradise.

Reno & Tahoe actually have, in my opinion, some of the best Video Poker ANYWHERE.....when I lived in Northern California (Both the S.F. Bay Area and Sacramento) off and on during the period 1999 thru 2007, Reno/Tahoe received much of my casino time and attention.....back then it was a very good place to make your bankroll last.I have not been back to either Reno or Tahoe since 2009 so I cannot speak at all about recent developments. I will say though, that if I were ever to actually LIVE in a locale that featured Casino Gambling as a MAJOR part of its social, cultural and economic opportunity, Reno might be the first choice for me.....its climate is so much more appealing than Las Vegas, as is the scenery and overall environment. The People in Northern Nevada too are much more friendly and down to earth than Vegas & elsewhere.
