New video poker game
I found a new video poker game at the casino tonight I have never seen and I thought I would see if anyone else was familiar with it. I believe it was called "multi-game" video poker. It is similar to "ace invaders". It is a 3 line game you are dealt a hand on the base line. When you decide what to hold you will be dealt the other two hands randomly similar to "double pay" video poker. Whatever you keep in the baseline will more up to the other two lines if it improves the hand. The pays for the game such as jacks or better was 13 for full house all other pays the same as full pay jacks or better. Obviously if it was a single line game it would be way over 100% payback, but since two of the three hands you do not have a redraw option it changes the overall payback of the game. Does anyone know how you would even figure out the payback of this games, I can't seem to find any information about this type of video poker variant.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!I believe I know what game you are talking about, as I saw it at Harrahs in AC the past week while I was there......it was called "Movin' on UP" Poker, and the game played essentially how you described it.....I only had time to play about 50 hands before I had to play a poker tournament, but what I saw briefly was a pretty cool game and one I intend to play again next time I am there (probably around Labor day.) In the meantime I am working on strategy myself, and will likewise be searching the internet for resources as well......I am sure Bob Dancer knows about this game so perhaps we should ask him.....<da burglar yells> "HEY BOB!?!?!" "Yo! Mr. Dancer??!?"Are you familiar yet with "Movin on Up" video poker???

I dont quite understand how it works. It seems like a standard 3-play machine. So if you are dealt a pair of kings, dont you keep the pair of kings on all 3 hands?

I think the difference would be that it only moves up if it improves the hand. Say that you had trip Kings on the bottom line, and then held them. But on line 2 you were dealt a straight, and line 3 you were dealt a flush. The 3 Kings would not move up, since it did not improve those hands. As a result, you only have one line to draw that 4th King, instead of 3 lines. .

Every one so far is partially correct and partially wrong in describing how this game actually works lol! I actually do not even want to try to attempt to describe how it wroks because frankly, it is one of those games you kinda just have to PLAY yourself in order to really grasp it!And I am speaking of the game I played at HArrahs called "Movin' on UP!" I am still not 100% convinced we are all even talking about the exact same game! There are so many new, gimmicky games out there designed to get us to bet MORE on each hand of VP that it almost feels like a Carnival.Let us hope that THIS website soon adds the game to our menu of offerings.....

You're not talking the same game. "Movin' on Up" is probably better than this game... It's called "Multi-Win Poker" and I was dumb enough to try the game at my local casino (Hollywood St. Louis) who was dumb enough to recently install it. They also recently installed "Tap House Poker", best game 8/6 JoB for dollars (~98.4%...meh).
It's also quite confusing how "Multi-Win Poker" works. I think this is how it works, but I may be wrong as I was tipsy when trying it... You pay 15 credits, and the bottom hand behaves like standard VP. But the other two hands are hands where you don't get to hold any cards and only get help from the cards you held in the bottom hand, IF and only IF, the bottom hand wins. In the end the top 2 hands are weaker than the bottom one; hence JoB being as high as a 13/6 paytable. It's one of the stupidest games I have seen in a long time. It's like "Ace Invaders", but isn't restricted to Aces, and "Ace Invaders" is way more fun, imo.
One bit of good news is the highest paying game available is >99% according to the media sheet. I have no idea what that paytable is. At the quarter level, most games were 3 units above "full pay", and I would guess those are about 97%. So I wouldn't be surprised if "full pay" was 5 units above normal (i.e. 14/6 JoB).

This is indeed the game I described in my first post. I found the game pretty fun to play. But I only want to play games that have 99% plus payback. It sounds like this game is probably out. Besides I would have to learn how to play a different strategy since the game has such a unique paytable.
