I met a board member this weekend!

Post by roveer »

So there I was sitting in Harrah's on Friday night plugging away at STP when I got a tap on my shoulder from a guy who said "can I ask you a question". This seemed quite different than the frequent "can I please have a cigarette" so I played along. Not sure exactly how to ask he smiled and said "by any chance are you Roveer". He was pretty sure he just asked a perfect stranger a very bizarre question. Only thing was, his instincts were dead on. He'd found me. Hiding in plain sight right in the middle of Harrah's where I spend so many countless hours pounding away on STP, DC, UX etc. For the next hour or so we chatted about all kinds of stuff, mostly VP. I can't remember exactly his screen name and I don't want to give up his street name, but he is a hell of a nice guy and a lot of fun to talk to. He's a Show Boat player and unfortunately Show Boat closed down on Saturday for good so i guess he's looking for a new place to play. He told me he'd probably go to Caesars.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention my chance encounter with a VP board member and say it was my pleasure chatting for the time that we did. Oh, In the first 15 minutes he managed to hit a 2 card Royal Flush. Nice going. So when he came down the next morning with his buddy and found me still pounding away he asked me if there were going to be any pictures to post. I told him a few. Here they are.

It's always nice to meet people from this site roveer, I recently met Vman in St. Louis. Our meeting was arranged though so it wasn't as complete a surprise as yours was.

Vman was sitting next ot me as I was banging away on a 10 play machine and all of a sudden I was dealt 4 to the royal. I held those four cards and pressed deal, hoping for alteast one to impress Vman. WHIFF.....

Oh well, maybe next time Vman.

Love the story Roveer and the pics are awesome! For the life of me I can't understand why my wife and I can't get hits like these. We play this game every trip and never see anything like this. A 4 of a kind seems rare let alone a kicker! Way to go!

Nice hits, Roveer.

But wait - can't remember his screen name? I'll be looking for you at Harrah's when I am in AC in October. You need to keep better notes while playing.

OK, you pushed me to make my brain work. I believe his board name is TKO. There's a lot of worthless knowledge and other superfluous things floating around up there. You made me work hard to pull this out out.

Nice hits Roveer. I've dreamed of hits like this but.... Anyhows, my meetings with VP peoples was limited to the VP,com booth at the G2E in Vegas. It was nice to meet some of the folks who help make this site run.

Always a pleasure, Mr Da Cat. I've now met a wide range of people through the site, and it's always been a pleasant experience. Great people we have on here.

Well, I count 7 members of this VP site with a screen name that starts "TKO".

So come October, Roveer, remember... BillyJoe... FOCUS..

When I'm playing VP there is only a single point of focus. Anything less and I might as well be Slappy or Mrs. Slappy. Personally I just don't have the money for that.
