Watching the Big Boys Play
Since our move to Coushatta, we had the opportunity to watch the big boys and girls play VP. Three players come to mind. All three play 50/100 hand VP. Player A plays @ 25¢ level ($125/hand). Player B starts @5¢ Deuces Bonus and then switching to 100 @ 25¢ - ($125/hand).
Player C we got to play with this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Player C started out Friday night with 100 hands@ 25¢ ($125/hand) and then switched 100 @ 50¢ ($250/hand) playing only TDB. Play started with $1000 into the machine and additional hundred any time it went below $1K. Needless to say the G statements started hitting. It took longer to get the hand pay than time to get the hits so 50-60% of C's time was waiting for the machine to be reset. Player C would accumulate a 5-6 hand pays/hour over their 5-6 hour session each night. Pay offs were in $500 vouchers. A $2250 hit would consist of 4 $500 vouchers and the loose 100's which could quickly be put back into the machine. Loose bills were kept in a large wad in his hand. He would also cash out tickets of300-500 hits every few hands and pile them in his had as well.
Sunday night I played next to him while he played a 50 play machine starting out at 50 x $2.50 ($125/draw). His "loose tickets" (under $1000) were all collected along with the loose 100's. After several nice $2K hits he switched to 50 hand @ $5/hand ($250/deal). Multiple quads or even full house would require a hand pay. At cash out the loose tickets amounted to almost $9K and then he still had a wad of $100's. Oh and a handful of $500 vouchers. Based on the comped points he played through in one session seated next to me over $500,000 coin-in.
"In my dreams..... I play with that much bank roll..... No!, not even in my dreams.

Great post. It's really fun to watch that kind of action. About 6 years ago right after they got real VP at the Tampa Hard Rock, I was playing in the high limit casino next to an older man and a young woman. They were both playing Deuces wild at $10 a coin and pushing money into the machines as hard as they could. Each had a stack of hundreds and they must have gone through at least 20-30 grand while I watched. I never saw them hit a quad deuce, but the girls were lining up with the W2Gs on their clipboards. I was hoping one of them would hit a Royal for $40K, but it didn't happen. Great fun as long as it's someone else's money.

I never saw them again and I always wondered if they had just cleaned out the safe at work and were getting back at the boss for laying them off.

In that case they are probably behind bars for embezzlement!
In regards to this topic, some people have a strong opinion that gambling is far worse to a person than drugs or alcohol addiction, this might be a strong case for it. Not sure what kind of comp they will seek for that kind of play, lifetime stay at one of their hotel rooms?

I'd say 99% of the population has that sentimiment...
and that's not that "big" of a play...I have a friend that consistently earns 1 Million Tier Credits at CET properties (that's at least $5 million coin-in per year!)

1 Million Tier Credits per gaming session? Even for 1 years play that is big when its $5 coin in for 1 tier credit for slots and $10 coin in for VP ($25 coin in for 9/6 JoB). Being a slot player in the past, the slot machines at CET properties do not pay out very well. They do have bonus tier credits each day if you play 5000, you get a bonus 10000.
Still 1 million tier credits is a big play no matter how you slice it.

Gambling beyond your means is foolish. It is only a problem if you do not have enough money to lose. Some of us do not have that problem. If you are small, play small. If you are big, play however you want and everyone else can keep their nose out of it.

Not me.. I can't run with that herd.
Even at that, "big boys" is a relative term, and is usually different depending on the location of the casino. Take a look around on a heavyweight fight weekend in Vegas. Plus, that would only be the places that you have access to. It amazes me still all the money that is flying around.
