Taking it easy the rest of the year

Post by olds442jetaway »

Well, including last night's overnight play (not the stay ) which was a dud, I just can't seem to crack the ice on this streak. 50k hands without Deuces quads, and well over 300k without a Royal. So we have some things lined up at Mohegan and are just going to try and relax and maybe use up a little free play and perks the rest of the year. If the weather holds, we will attend a holiday party there with a big cash drawing, go see Albano's Nutcracker, Kenny Rogers Christmas show, a Temptations and Four Tops tribute show with I think one or two of the originals left, and one of my favorites Ronnie's Christmas Show in the Wolf Den. I mean the original Be my Baby Ronnie. I have seen her every year as far back as I can remember. This show is free by the way in the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun and they just put in new theatre type seating as well as preserving the dance floor. They are also throwing in a couple of gifts and a little extra free play. I am also looking forward to a hopefully great UCONN Women's B ball game vs UCLA. None of this will put much of a dent in what the last few months of play have done to the bankroll, but I/we might as well take a break and try and enjoy some of the offers. If anyone out there is planning to attend, drop a line here. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving....Olds.....

You are right there BJ. Oh, I left out the Irish Tenors Christmas show this coming Sunday. Maybe if I stay a little busy at the shows, bars, and shops, I will stay away completely from the machines. Fat chance of that.... Enjoy your upcoming trip too! Bring the lass with ya or maybe meet a new one or two. Speaking of Irish beauties, the wife has 40 or 50 cousins. When we go up to the Boston area to visit the clan, I am like a little kid in a candy store. Don't know who to hug and flirt with first....When Irish eyes are smiling.......

I find that I am more interested in playing against others to see how well I can do. I have never made it to the top spot yet, that day will come. I enjoy getting on here each and everyday to see what the new contest is every day. I love it when I see a keno contest, as they are my favorite games to play. I also do enjoy poker. I will not fuss about the games, as this is all for fun. If you win, you win and if you don't you don't. Try it again and again to see how close to the top you can get. That is the fun in these games....

Hmmm - cousins. May have to crash a family get-together one day.

And guess what. As far as I know, all are Tattooless lasses. With 47 of them ( some married though ) you have a choice of blonde or light brunette, blue Irish eyes or brown, and one little lonely redhead who has the best smile of all. Just back from an overnight at Mohegan myself. While not successful by any means on the vp machines, all of my favorite waitresses were on duty at once at various locations. Had to cash in a bill for a little extra tip money which I like to give this time of year. Lots of folks that work at the casinos are really struggling financially with no help from their employer who continues with benefit cuts, no raises or bonuses, and more probable layoffs. Somehow almost all of them stay pleasant and manage a smile too.

I really don't get it .  It makes no sense to me. How can you not be hitting?  My wife and I just got back from a 1 night 2 day trip. We hit the 4 deuces 8 times between the 2 of us and I had a little $200 royal on a nickel machine. I think  80% of that play was single coin strategy. Somethings a miss out there in CT. I can understand wanting to take time off from not hitting, there is no fun in that. I hope your luck turns soon.

I'm going to back off for a while too.  This year's been great and want to end it on a winning note.   The best way to end a losing streak is to get away from it for a while.  Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday!

Yes, very strange. Just for a little test, I tried some of the mindless penny machines betting around 10 cents at a time like Hoot Loot, the one with the farmer and the storm, and a few others that still allow you to select lines. I didn't put any players card in. On every one of those machines I tried, I was able to get ahead a couple of bucks with a single twenty before they went into the non win at all mode and took the bill. That seems about normal as far as the slots go, but I still need to check further on the video poker. On the next trip, I am going to just play a quarter at a time on vp without a player card in and see what happens. It should for the most part go back and forth and slowly down. It that does happen which would be normal and on my next regular trip with the card in, it just goes straight down, with no significant hits at all, then I think it will be time to switch from Mohegan to Foxwoods even though their paytables are lower. The probabilities of me having two runs like this without Royals in the same year of 550k or so hands and 325 or so hands so far this run without a Royal and then not hitting the deuces quads on the wild game and just hitting them on job in like 60k hands are astronomical. It is possible just like anything is possible in vp, but something is not right that I cannot put my finger on. Other vp players there are having similar stories, yet I still see some big Royal hits and awak hits by other players. The key I think is what the slot attendants are saying. Their pay is way down ( hand pay tips are way down ) because players just aren't hitting the hand pays. One slot attendant told me he went an entire week working over 40 hours without a single hand pay to give out. That sounds almost impossible to me, but I have no reason to doubt him.
