2014 Dec Vegas Trip
Well, back from Vegas. Had a very nice trip. A lot going on there this past weekend.
It started with the weirdest weather EVER in all my years of visiting Vegas. I landed in the fog on Wednesday evening, and spent the next 3 days fogged in with 90+ percent humidity - unheard of for the desert.
But, in spite of the weather, went out and played some golf - both Shadow Creek and Cascata. At Shadow, got a locker two down from "The Prez", who had been there a few days earlier, playing golf with Derek Jeter.
This was the Vegas Gift Wrap event at both Caesars and Bellagio. I was able to get some neat stuff this year. Of course, Vegas was decked out for Xmas, including balls on Caesars' "virgins", and live penguins. A beautiful tree in the Arboretum at Bellagio.
It was NASCAR Champions week also. I didn't get a 'selfie' with Danica, but they let Tony Stewart park at Caesars.
I saw Andrea Bocelli in concert Saturday night. What a talent! Of course, it was also National Rodeo Finals in Vegas, so there were cowgirls galore.
I got my first taste of dinner at Giada's Restaurant. VERY tough ticket to get, BTW. She had just left to return to New York, so I couldn't get a new 'selfie' with her. The food and service was good, but I thought that the restaurant was a little over-hyped. I sprung for a Giada golf hat anyway, and ALMOST stole her placemat.
So, how was the VP? I was treated very well, thank you. In fact, I did not even have to use my own bankroll. I started with the FreePlay that I was awarded from both Caesars and Mirage, and never looked back. I played at Caesars, Mirage, Bellagio and Aria this trip, along with a bit at Cromwell while waiting for dinner. The Wheel Poker was at Mirage (even got an RF playing Wheel), the multi-line Good Times Pay was at Bellagio, and the Five Star single-line Good Times Pay was at Caesars, along with the three-line wins. A few nice $5 slot wins were part of the mix, too.
I played very little table play this trip. Every time I sat down, I seemed to be among some a##-holes, so I just left. And, of course, the more 'positive' paytables at Bellagio and Aria shut me out, as usual. I guess I am just destined for the poorer paytables for handpays.
Here are the VP pics...
That will be it for me on the road this year. I hope everyone has a joyous holiday season.

Sounds like a great trip BJ and lots of fun. I was wondering though....Couldn't you have gotten a locker a couple of doors down from the Cowgirls instead of Obama?

Was wondering how much bounceback does 7Stars and NOIR offer if you are allowed to share? With all those premium quads, I can understand you were fortunate not to have touched your bankroll.
Thanks for sharing the story! MGM and Caesars do offer a lot!

On this particular trip, alpax, I was given $900 by Caesars and $700 by Mirage. It does vary trip to trip, but that is about average for me at my level of play.
On this trip, everything (airfare, golf, food, room, show, limos) was host comped also, except my Giada hat (used TR credits for that).

Great report billyjoe, and pics of over 26k in handpays to boot. This would make a good trip for just about anyone; Mr. Dancer being the possible exception of course. Oops, and DaBurglar too of course, being the advantage player that he is. I'm guessing a Republican put President Obama's name plate on the locker in the clubhouse - it was crooked, lol... Congrats again and now bring some of that cash back to Harrah's Joliet.
