Everyone but me night
I know we have all had them but last night at MGM Detroit was my turn. Went with 3 buddies who I converted to VP players. One after another they hit 4oaks, me nothing. At the end of 5 hours of play they were all up and I was the only one down. My best friend had 6 of them, 4 dealt and a straight flush........just one of those nights right?
Happy New Year everyone!

Unfortunately, 5 hour streaks without quads is not all that uncommon.I had many in 2014 and some worse than that. Hopefully, you will hit one in 2015 like I did about 10 years ago. I caught quad aces 5 times in one hour on the same machine. if I remember it was 8/5 Bonus Poker that paid 2 for the 2 pair. They have since yanked those machines where I play.

Uh, I hope the person who created this topic will forgive me, but my story is too brief to begin a topic of its own. Once (and in years of playing this hasn't happened often), I sat down at a row of machines at one of the Station Casinos, and before I had used a roll of quarters (that dates me) I hit a royal. This was a bit late, probably after midnight, and there weren't many other folks around. I remember one woman sitting at a machine across the aisle, who looked like she had been there for a couple of hours, giving me a dirty look.
And, yes, I've been on the receiving end. I remember some three or four tourists loudly arriving in a row at which I had been sitting for a couple of hours, and one woman asking her companions a newbie's "What do I do now?" and soon after hitting a royal. I know I didn't give her. or them, any nasty looks, and I hope that my fleeting feeling of exasperation didn't show on my face.
