I did something nice for an old lady yesterday
Was having a pretty good night, up about $400 decided to hit the $5 machines....they are multi denomination at the casino I go to and the old lady next to me was playing $1 dueces one credit at a time...I stuck $ 200 in the machine and played about 12 hands with, a flush and a couple of pairs...with $75 in the machine I was dealt Kspade, 10 spade, 4 heart, Aspade, Qspade...hit draw and the jack of clubs came up...told the lady next to me should could have the $175 left in the machine as I slowly walked out to my car thinking of what might have been

Was the lady exceptionally nice? was she in ill health? I'm just curious....thanks for sharing that experience.

Very nice... One day at the Ameristar in Blackhawk I was walking around playing $20 each in random machines when a young guy walked up to me and handed me a couple of $20s. He told me he was going home and I could have the money. I thought he was up to something but he told me he just wanted to do something nice for someone. I thought it was one of the nicest things I had seen anyone do in a casino. Playing single coin does have it's benefits.

The main reason was because I was so depressed at being one card away from 20k that I couldn't bare to sit in the casino for another minute. The fact that the card I got was the right card and the right color just wrong suit was a factor as well...I guess it was sort of an emotional reaction that from now on I can look back and laugh...oh so close

Very very nice gesture. I have given out a few small tickets to those who looked like they could use it, but nothing like that. I have also been the recipient of a few small tickets. That makes me wonder what I must look like. Actually I know since quite often my Mrs. gets mistaken for being my daughter and we are only a couple of years apart. ...true story by the way...

That's why I dress like a homeless person, so people will have pity on me and give me money to play. I guess people think I play short coin because I'm desperate. If they only knew.

A man that I know very well who is worth many hundreds of millions of dollars wears gym shoes all the time. To look at him you would think he is just another retiree living on a small pension.

Once you have f**k You money, as John Goodman so brilliantly talks about in the movie "The Gambler", one does not want to squander it.

The movie itself was just okay at best but I would give John Goodman an oscar for best supporting actor.
