Tahoe Question?
My wife and I will be in Reno Tahoe for a week this fall. We're staying at the Peppermill, but will take a two day trip out to Lake Tahoe. It looks like the low denomination video poker odds in Tahoe are pretty poor. Can we stay in Tahoe and drive back to Reno each day to play or is it too far?

Phil if I remember correctly it is about 40-60 miles depending on where you are in Lake Tahoe. This being said; plan on an hour to an hour and a half.

We were in Tahoe late May, courtesy of Caesar's Entertainment.
I agree with the one to one and a half hour driving time estimate above. Some of it is multilane divided highway, but a considerable amount is two lane and somewhat winding and hilly.
Phil, you can find decent 25c single line VP at Harrahs and, across the street, Harveys. By decent, I mean 8/5 bonus poker. Also, at Harrahs, you can go into the high limit room and play 25c 9/6 JOB on the 50 line machines. You can play any number of lines, and any number of coins per line. If you do that, don't make the mistake I did a couple of times, and accidentally hit the max coin button.
If you do that, don't make the mistake I did a couple of times, and accidentally hit the max coin button.
Thanks for the info. I once went to a small tribal casino and started playing Cheap Strategy. When I hit the max coin button, it took 100 coins. Yikes! I panicked because I was playing dollars. Luckily, I hit a straight and made some money. $100 a hand is a little too rich for my budget.

Wife and I are in Reno/Tahoe frequently...
Actually, at Harvey's, there's plenty of 5c 7/5 Bonus Poker, and 9/5 DoubleDouble Bonus Poker (which for 5c, isn't too bad)
There's also 8/5 BP for 25c at the Heavenly Bar.

You're welcome.
I didn't pay big time for my mistakes either. The first time, I was dealt something reasonably playable, and broke about even. The second time, I was lucky enough to be dealt two pair, and netted a profit of around 400 credits.
