New Ticket Redemption Machine Ups House Edge
In what may be a sign of the times, Coushatta replaced its Ticket Redemption machines with a new style which is designed to create increase the long run house edge. The new machines only cash out dollar bills and then print out a TITO for the remaining coin cash. These "Coin Tickets" can be played in a machine or must be taken to a cashier. So for many players these tickets will probably go into a wallet or purse and not cashed. This increases the house take since they are not redeemed.
Anyone else seen these machines at their casino?

Interesting a "Charity Option" was posted in the Player's Club but nowhere near the Redemption Ticket machines. Also no Chairman's Donation box was located anywhere near the machines.

My wife was out in AZ and hit 2 casinos, they had the same machines. For me I always cash out even dollar amounts anyway, I hate chump change.

If you don't feel like donating or bothering a cashier constantly larry, just collect these tickets that are less than one dollar then eventually go to an empty slot/VP machine and put them all in, don't actually play the machine (unless you want to), cash out combined TITO, and recollect at cashier. My g/f does this when she has 10 tickets or more instead of being the ***** who cashes 10 tickets at a kiosk.
This idea is pretty ridiculous though. Most Tunica casinos now make cashiers do player's club duties already.

Vman,
I often have only one or two tickets. If I have more I'll redeem them all and pull the coin ticket and probably give it to someone playing pennies.

I am a big fan of the TITO system as opposed to the coin droppers. From the very beginning every TITO redemption machines has been capable of dispensing the loose amount of change. So technology has never been a factor.
What I think the reasoning for all this is that TITO only accepts bills and does not allow players to put in loose change to add to their credit balance. The casino might not be able to keep up with gathering coins to fulfill the tickets from players. This is usually only a problem with penny slots which is pretty much dominating every casino floor.

Heck, everyone around here just leaves the coin tickets in the machine or laying all over the floor. I guess some people make money walking around all day picking them up? Pretty tough way to make a buck. On the other hand, I guess you could call these guys professional video poker players!

I see the benefits and drawbacks of this. Certainly much more efficient to service. Stuff the bills and split. I'd probably have to bring a paper clip to keep the change tickets together until there are enough to cash in over the weeks. Half the "winners" won't redeem them. Net win casino. What else is new? This will probably go nationwide by year's end.

I like getting the loose coins. Although I wear holes in my jeans sometimes, the loose change usually pays for my breakfast the next morning I'm home. Sometimes I drop it in a charity container like for the local animal shelter or something similar. The best tito story I ever had was about 5 years ago an elderly cleaning lady found tickets worth over 70 dollars in total under a machine she was sweeping. She handed them to me saying in very broken English that she couldn't take them or accept a tip or she would get fired. I waited in that area for over an hour while still playing hoping the real owner would return looking for them. They never did. After that, whenever I saw the same lady, I tried to clean up her area a little for her. She appreciated it, but quietly asked me not to do it anymore because she was afraid they would lay her off for not having enough to do. She is still working hard at nearly 80 years old. I wish the younger generation would do the same.
