September update.
So I went down to Harrah's to pick up my $250 gas cards on Friday night. Really wasn't much in the mood to gamble as I wanted to protect my previous trips winnings. I pulled 800 bucks in cash and took my freeplay. Bankroll around a grand. Started with quarter bartop, got up around a hundred. Moved to Nickel STP, lost around 50. Went into the Diamond Cove and played half dollar 5 hand STP. Moved to dollar 5 hand caught quad 8's. With 2,300 in the till I did something very "un-roveer"... In the words of George Thorogood, "out the door I went".
Feels so good going home a winner. Cleared just over 1,500.00 for less than an hours work + 250 in free gas. Really employing bankroll management tactics now.

roveer, good job. I did not qualify for the gas card obviously, but I believe I did have some other "gift" waiting for me yesterday at harrahs (I think it was a measly 25 dollar gift card .......macy's maybe??? .....I got it for being one of their POKER ROOM Regulars since January, I Average about 7 to 8 hours per day when I do decide to play in Harrahs Poker room, at both the 1-2 dollar Blind tables and the 2-4 and 2-5 Blinds, plus the buy-ins I do for Tournaments) Obviously, I did not collect my card Yesterday since I came home Wednesday from my latest AC foray.....I personally have not played any serious VP in Harrahs for a while now, but I have observed both friends and strangers as they play in HARRAHS, and the server based games frankly give me pause......obviously, with CET corporate being in such deep debt there is greater and greater pressure on the divisions (i.e. each casino, of which Harrahs obviously is one) to cut costs and increase revenue/profit. I just get an uneasy feeling from the video poker games I see and observe in all 3 CET properties in AC, and the ones I have allowed myself to play even a little bit since January of this year, not only have I been slaughtered but slaughtered in the most decisive, unceremonious manner!!!In short, I am glad you bailed before they could fleece you of anymore of your bankroll (regardless of where it came from or how you got it) and I hope you maintain your strict control of how much you allow yourself to play at the CET properties in AC. As always, I urge you to continue to consider other places besides HArrahs AC to play!!

I am happy converting vouchers into cash almost dollar for dollar at CET before I flee. I got $47 from $50 today. Borgata was no panacea. I lost $60 in 3.5 hours of JOB with three quads. Quads were four, two and one coin.

Harrah's is fighting their financial woes by gutting their players club percs, reducing staff, eliminating all but the fewest possible employees. It shows all over the place. I don't think they are setting their "server" based games in the hopes of becoming more profitable, but of course you never know. They'll all be gone soon so we might as well enjoy them while they are still here. I myself am enjoying my little revenge winning streak. While it won't likely ever erase my bad years, you never know. 10x AAAA3 10 handed would be pretty nice...

good post.....who or what did you mean exactly when u said "they will all be gone..." ??? Did you mean HArrahs will be gone, or CET properties, or did you simply mean the SERVER based games will be gone and they will revert back to the old but goody single chip games? And yes, a $50,000 win on STP DDB would cure just about any ailment in the video poker losing streak department

Yes, vague allusion. Harrah's just opened their convention center, so they will persevere. Profits are decent. Bally's has been the rumored party. Amazing location be damned.

Of course this is my opinion, but when I say "all of them", I'm referring to the casinos. If things were getting "better" than I wouldn't see the casino empty all the time unless they were giving something away. Even when they do, the place clears out pretty quickly after the event is over. Otherwise the place is full of kids looking for the Kardashians and they don't gamble enough to keep the door open.
I estimate in the next 5 years we are going to see things change even more in AC. Now, that may result in one or two properties actually benefiting, but I don't see things improving for AC, not by a long shot.
All my opinion of course.

Weekends will be packed until the dead of winter it seems. I gave up on the boardwalk itself. Still hoping I don't lose over $1000 on the year. That's going to mean two hour sessions tops. Must exercise discipline.
