so how was your 2015?
Overall....down $11,700...not a single royal all year....I play 50c, $1 DDB most of the time and will play $5 on occasion if I am ahead as well as the occasional wheel of fortune slot to go for a progressive...a couple of highlights...I had back to back handpays this summer, 4 aces with a two on $1 DDB, next hand switch to $5 and hit 4 10s for 1250....looking at my paper work, I have 16 w2s...$1 aces with a kicker twice,... on the $5 machine s hit 4 aces ( no kicker) once, 4 2 s twice (no kicker) 4 4s (no kicker) once, 4 6s twice, 4 9s three times, 4 10s twice, 4 queens three times...on the bright side I bought a $50 scratch ticket last week and won $1000 ! So for the year, I am ahead of gov. Mark Dayton and the Minnesota state lottery $700 when counting my losses on powerball and other scratch tickets...merry Christmas to all and a happy 2016!

I always have to ask this when someone gives info on how much they are down. How much coin in did you have? How much Free Play did you get for the year? If your coin in was say a million then you had a good year, but if it was $100,000 then not so good.

5ofakind, I am sorry your year was that bad.......as far as Video Poker is concerned, it was even worse for me despite the fact I am playing at record LOW levels of total $$ and total TIME.....my return rate was something like an abysmal 75-76% for the year at AC casinos.... I will not divulge my total losses in $$, nor my coin in for the year in dollars though, as I am still officially tabulating the results, plus its both depressing and embarrassing.....76% is all you really need to know though, especially since almost 90% of my play in AC is on games like 8/5 Bonus Poker, 9/7/5 DB, 9/6 JOB, and other 99+% games!!! And the other 10% or so is on games that are 97.5% or higher, so the fact I finished so horribly bad AGAIN for the year is indicative of what I have maintained all along: AC video POKER is operating within parameters and features that are not normal, and are not typical of other video poker markets (like VEGAS.) FYI: Several of my friends and relatives who also play in AC report similar results.....exceptionally BAD! Royals are almost non existent across the board, with one exception: One of my cousins managed to hit two royals this year at Borgata for $8000 each: One on a 2 dollar game, the other playing Double Joker $1 which pays 8000 on a 10 credit bet.....his results therefore were skewed upward due to this such that he ended the year with a 94% return on his total play in AC video poker (not exactly fantastic either but way way better than any of the rest of us....take away those two exceptional hits though, and he drops precipitously for the year.....)

Not good. A return of 95% playing mostly 99 percent games. This has been the pattern since 2011. I was also W-2Gless up until a few weeks ago when I hit a couple of small ones 2 days apart. My average in prior years is 6-10 per year. I am toying with small denomination games with poor tables for now on part of my sessions and find that the percent return is higher on those games than the 99 percent games.

1 Royal early in the year. 1 Royal for my girlfriend. A lot of overtime at work. So I had some extra money coming in. I give it another try at the Borgata over Christmas and next week.

Until recently, I've had a great year. Playing CS I was up about $2K overall with one W2G. After getting knocked around on this forum, I went back to max coins and gave back my winnings plus some. Right now, I'm down about $600 for the year. I've moved back to CS and am hoping to get back in the black next year.

Your cousin's timing was exceptionally fortuitous. But the two RFs count just as much. Nobody is throwing them back. VP pay tables are calibrated to bake in the very strokes of luck he had. The overwhelming majority of AC VPers, got the usual raw deal. I'll know in February when CET gets around to sending the statement. They must get some January play out of us before the bad news hits home. I would like to know if Tropicana and Borgata send similar statements. I quit Trop after two bad sessions, but hold my own most of the time at Borgata.

Heck, it usually is. When I go big, I go home. I will focus on keeping my play and emotions on a decidedly low flame next year. I will go back to cheap CS and try to pull a max coin Royal out a hat that way again. It adds a nice element of suspense and drama when I do ratchet up. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but CS will never hurt me.

Not good. A return of 95% playing mostly 99 percent games.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Olds, that is more than fair. By now we should all accept that a 99% actual return is a pipe dream. A 95% return probably put you in the top three percentile of VP players nationwide. That is a glass more than half full.
