The free play offers coming from my two local Indian casinos have had a reduction 18 months ago, been the same every week since.
The free play offers at the Boyd properties in Vegas have stayed the same, so I will experiment with putting in less play. My MGM Vegas offers have decreased; however, but I have not played there for 18 months.

It seems to me that the Florida Hard Rock casinos have increased their free play offers recently. It's not the automatic free play that is any better, it's the mailers for free play days and drawings. It's quite complicated as they have 6 different types of offers. There's lots of fine print, so I sat down with a manager a few weeks ago and he explained the differences. Depending upon the title of the mailer, the offer is quite different. Some are guaranteed free play and some are drawings for free play or cash. The number of special drawings have significantly increased. Must be working...

About the same for me at Mohegan Sun. The big hit was back in 2011.

thanks all! i know the reductions i have seen are not a result of me winning money. it has mainly been at CET properties that i have seen the biggest reductions. i thought it might be due to the bankruptcy proceedings, but jeter is not seeing the same thing.

it has mainly been at CET properties that i have seen the biggest reductions. The way to increase your offers at CET is to stop playing there for 3 or 4 months. They appear to have a system in place that if you're willing to accept certain offers, they'll reduce it by 10% or so next time and see if you're willing to accept that as well. When you stop accepting offers, they tend to go up to lure you back into their fold. Make sure you let six months of no play elapse or you'll lose whatever Reward Credits you have accumulated. In addition, the way to succeed at CET is to find machines where the theoretical is higher than it should be. (hosts are professional friends and may be willing to give you information on how much theoretical you've generated on a particular trip. Using that information to determine how much theoretical a given machine earns is simple algebra.) That was certainly the case at Cherokee --- where notes1 indicated he plays periodically. Over time they realize their mistake and adjust the theoretical on these machines --- so that the same amount of play generates less theoretical which in turn generates lesser offers. On the February 16 GWAE radio show, one of our guests will be Darryl McEwen, publisher of www.sevenstarsinsider.com --- which provides all sorts of useful tips for those playing at CET properties.Darryl is NOT an advantage player --- he actually plays slots --- so he misses a lot of things of interest to smart video poker players. But he has accumulated a lot of knowledge about the CET system and he presents it well.

dancer, i appreciate the advice. on a previous thread, i mentioned that some/many casinos appear to live by the motto, 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'. unlike almost any other business i know, casinos seem to chance screwing their best customers. if they can get away with giving them less, they will, as opposed to being afraid they may lose them. i am sure they have data to back up their marketing. most folks must just accept it. i have not changed my demonination, my games, my time spent playing or the machines i play, so i do not believe anything has affected their decision, other than they felt they could get away with it. but, no matter whether my available dollars can afford a reduction, i am a tight wad at the core, and will seek value elsewhere. i am confident you are right, when their computer systems see a reduction in play, they will adjust and the offers will increase. one area i do disagree and it may be that you are just unaware of what type of treatment the low to mid level diamond member may get, is we do not get access to personal hosts. this was done away with some time ago. i put thru about $160-175k at CET a year, on mostly crappy paytables, about 60-70% of my overall annual coin in. i get a national marketing rep out of vegas, who is worthless. you get nothing other than the offers the computers spit out. i know, because i have tried. i am not afraid to ask for stuff, i have no problem being told NO.

Interesting discussion, guys. It sounds like you do $4,000 coin in per day. That's almost ten times more than my low roller days. Your Diamond was well earned, Notes.
