Revised 2016 Strategy
OK guys and gals, I've decided to take the plunge back to max coins. My plan is to stop playing lousy pay schedule video poker cold turkey. No more 96% games for me. I'm playing on this website during the week and traveling to better venues for vacations. This week it's the Hollywood Hard Rock where they have my favorite Airport Deuces in all denominations. Still a little negative, but we'll get free rooms, dinners and some free play along with our chances. Bring on the Royals!!!

Sounds like a plan Phil. If I were going with you, I think I would still play 5 quarters assuming they have airport deuces or better, but still use CS on hits of 4 or more and up my bet to at least 10 if not 25 if the machine allows without changing denomination. So far this has worked well for me in 2016 both on deuces and job. Good luck to you both and enjoy the trips too. That is half the fun. Especially for our Mrs. as they have some different stores to shop in.

It does sound like a plan and I look forward to your reports.
Let us know if you lose 2% less, five times faster.
We'll see what happens. I'm also going to resist the temptation to slip into the high limit room. I'm way ahead on pot shots, but I think I'm living on borrowed time and should quit while I'm ahead.

I support this decision/change as I feel it will produce a higher amount of complimentary stuff from the casino. Good luck to you and the Mrs.
Probably you could explore Scarlet Pearl in Biloxi area one of these days.

Probably you could explore Scarlet Pearl in Biloxi area one of these days.I like the Scarlet Pearl, but if FP is going to play quarters it is not the best choice. I wish it were as I am a quarter player and I really like the newness and comfort of the Pearl. They are also generous with room comps. Unfortunately all of their good games are at the dollar level where they do offer Airport Deuces and three 99%+ games. The IP is now Biloxi's best option for a quarter player who is strictly looking for the best EV. They have 9/6 JoB and airport deuces with a progressive royal. BTW, good luck Phil, I hope 2016 is a good year for you.

Since you get so many comps where you play, max on good pay tables is actually rather justifiable. I'm still going with a grab bag strategy. One to five depending on my mood and the cycle's wave momentum. I have a feeling we will see a lot of jackpot posts from down South.

I don't think we will be returning to Biloxi until they put in some decent quarter VP. There isn't enough free stuff in Mississippi to make a 96% game playable. Right now, the Hollywood Hard Rock is our destination of choice. We used to play at the dollar level, but $5K is too much to throw away on a bad trip. Anyone who isn't bothered by flushing thousands of dollars down the toilet must not have worked too hard to get it. If you're going to make a business out of VP, you know the risk. Just for fun with nothing to show for it except bad memories? No thank you...
