VP plans for 2016

Post by notes1 »

have to admit i stole i the idea of this thread elsewhere, because i thought It was interesting. are you changing anything about your play/location/frequency/bet size or anything else for 2016? with the constant reduction of paytables, comps and free play, it would interesting to know what others are doing. i had decided to greatly reduce my play at cherokee, which had been my prime location, largely due to convenience. the paytables always sucked, but they used to give out enough free play to help compensate. i already received a call from the national casino host asking if she could do anything for me. emailed her back that i would not be going back, until things improved. i doubt anyone is breaking a sweat at CET.

Yes.  I went to max coin play, cut my trips to about half what they were and have been playing more on this website.   No royals so far this year, so it hasn't worked that well yet. Time will tell...Funny thing, since I don't go as much my mailbox is full of offers.  I sure would like to be the Hard Rock's printer....

Yes. CET AC still offers full pay. I have raised my max coin wagers since being burned on a one coin RF at Borgata last fall. That has produced more max coin quads, but larger losses on cold days. On a busy night, desperate enough to attempt 8/5 dollar in the High Roller/Low VPIQ room. Fortunate to escape up $20; never again.

Yes, will not run as much action in AC as in past years. Will drop down to .50 9/6 Jacks as opposed to $1.00 in years past. Also play some .50 SDB.

Play only 99%+ games while keeping better records of hands played/coin in and out. Hoping to see where my payback % is at the end of the year.

I anticipate that I will play more hands in 2016 but I will be devoting much more of my play to games with lower variances and higher paytables. I also think I will concentrate my play at one casino. I am only a quarter player and I think dividing my play at too many casinos in the past has been preventing me from getting better mailers.

poker states his/her goal is to only play 99+% games. is there anyone who for 2015, put $250k or more through the machines and kept their losses to 1% or less?  i would define loss as one's actual money, after putting free play/cash back/bounceback, through the machines.  play only. no food, planes, hotels, raffles, drawings, etc.
is there anyone who for 2015, put $250k or more through the machines and kept their losses to 1% or less?
I am skeptical that anyone could be a long term winner at video poker without counting revenue outside the machine.  I believe the profit for the pros comes from lucky progressive hits, raffles, comps, and extras.  Anyone can have a long lucky spell, but sooner or later the tide will turn.  It is totally possible to limit the cost of play by choosing the right games and using your head more than your wallet.

I have changed how I manage my wins and so far it's made a big difference. I hope I can continue to have as much self control through the rest of the year.
