Casino Drawings Survey
This may not be the correct location but here goes. Most casinos have drawings for cash/free play. Coushatta is one of the best from my experience. This past week they gave away $25K to be drawn from approximately 200 names in attendance at a dinner. There were 4 names drawn (1-$2.5K; 1-$5K,1- $7.5K, and 1-$10K). The discussion on our table was instead of 1-$10K give out 10-$1K in essence giving out more smaller amounts to more people. Since there were 20 tables they would have had 13 prize winners instead of 4. Our feel was more winners more buzz!!
What are your feelings?
Bigger prizes to fewer patrons or more small prizes to a larger group?

agree with you 100%. more winners, instead of smaller number of larger winners.

I tend to lean toward sharing the wealth.
More important to me is an equal chance of winning, or at least only being able to earn a limited number of entries on that day only because we don't play much relative to others. So if people get entries all month, we have virtually no chance.
Paid off for my g/f last month at Hollywood STL, she got called for $100 of free play in a "hot seat" promo (equal chance of winning for everyone with players card in slot/VP machine).

I have never won anything in a casino drawing. However, I like the hot seat promos because I feel I have a better chance than pulling my name out of all the players in the universe. I'm sure the casinos feel the big prize drawings draw more players. I sat next to a lady who won a car a few years ago and have seen lots of players win $2-5K in cash, but it hasn't happened to me so far.

A contest is rendered meaningless if I struggle to achieve one bonus entry for every $1,250 coin in, as with a current CET promo. Meanwhile, the real drivers of casino revenue are piling up entries at an alarming pace.

Its the same reason for Powerball. It's the big prize that draws the crowd. Or so someone in marketing thinks.

Yes. Gawking at a $40,000 car gives great PR mileage.

I have won twice in drawings. $10,000 at Orleans last summer, and $100 in the Young At Heart at Sam's Town. The 10G was with only 265 virtual entries in, and 3 of the first 10 names called not showing up, so the second 3 called, one of them just happened to be mine. No complaints there! At Rampart, it seems that the same peeps are always called for the weekend drawings, from my experience. However, you do have a fair shot at the monthly drawing that only one entry is given for playing 2000 points in the previous month, and that one entry is all you get.I do agree that I like spreading the wealth with more peeps called for a smaller amount in drawings, like Orleans has been doing on Fridays this month with 10 peeps every hour from 1PM - 6PM winning $200.
