Going for Quad Deuces
I don't know how to calculate this or if it even possible to do so. I was wondering how much the long term frequency of hitting quad deuces ( 1 in every 5,348 ) hands would be increased to maybe 1 in every 5,000 hands or even less by making the following changes to perfect strategy in Airport Deuces.....Before I list those, I realize there is a long term additional cost for doing this....
1. With 1 Deuce and needing 2 more cards to complete the SF, always just keep the lone deuce.
2. When you have an inside draw to a straight and you have 0 dealt deuces, toss everything.
3. When you have an inside 2 card draw to a straight flush and have 0 deuces, toss everything.
4. Toss everything when you only have 2 cards to a Royal and have 0 deuces.
5. When you are dealt 1 deuce and need 1 card to complete a straight, just hold the deuce. I realize most times, you would only hold the deuce anyway.
6. You have A,10 and 1 deuce. Just keep the deuce.
I only ask this because the Martingale Clone method I am currently playing ( starting with bet 5 quarters ) relies on hitting quad deuces at some point. I don't increase my bet unless I have lost 1,000 coins. As we all know, the quad deuces pays 200 for 1.

Heading up tonight to get the final part to the Gordon Ramsey dinnerware set, some tiny free play, late dinner, and try out the ultra mild Martingale Clone listed below. Same 400- budget which hopefully won't bust. If the quad deuces don't come in by the end of the session, to be even or better, I have to pick up where I left off in this upcoming session next time. I also have to remember how much of tonight's bankroll was left so I don't go over the 400- mark. If it busts before the quad deuces hits, bummer. I am so overdue for a Royal ( again ). That of course doesn't mean it will hit. I have to be about the only one in the country who has had 2 500k hand stints without a Royal and nearly 200k hands now without one since Jan this year. If I didn't see people hitting them around me, I wouldn't even play at Mohegan. I have to keep the faith and hope that everything is on the up and up.

You need to have patience when it comes to quad deuces. I have tried most of what you have suggested and except for a very few minor tweaks, the computer strategy is the way to go. Going all out for a quad deuce will just increase the variance and if you are going to play that way you may as well play DDB or TDB. You will have days at a time where they never show, then hit two in 5 minutes. I find the average of one about every 5,000 hands just about right, but they never seem to come when you want them to. Why don't you ditch the Martingale Clone strategy and just move up in denomination? That's what I've done and although I don't get to play as long, I think I'm better off.

In a sense, that is what I am doing. I am moving up in denomination just by increasing my bets while waiting for the quad deuces. If it busts my 400- budget and I assume it will at some point, I may have to consider something else. I was hoping someone would have been able to calculate how much sooner the quad deuces would hit with the few modifications to perfect strategy I listed, but so far, no takers. The way I am playing now, I don't even have to go above bet 5 unless I have lost 250- bucks. If I go to bet 6 and my loss drops back to below 250-, I just revert back to bet 5. So far, so good as long as I remember to pick up where I left off in the following session. I still have a weakness for Double Down Stud Deuces wild, but that paytable is less than 98%. I love the game though. I will probably play that with a couple of twentys if I get ahead on the regular draw poker deuces. I guess that is what defines me as a Recreational Player and that is choosing a paytable less than the highet one available for a different game. Oh well, the losses are minimal so far for 2016, and I am having fun. We have to think of that too since facing reality our years of coming and going when and where we want because we still have our health are a consideration too. Every day is a gift at this point and forward. Hi to the Mrs.

Have you tried Loose Deuces? Not sure if it is available where you are, but it is sure nice with those bigger Deuce payouts. You pay a price at the low end, but it might work well for you.

It's square to say, and your games are way more fun. But sometimes I think you all have a screw loose. Vanilla JOB keeping me chugging along in the black. Low variance addiction? I start having doubts about once a year, just before the RF graces my screen.

I don't recommend you make any of the strategy changes you have suggested. You will increase the frequency of deuces --- and you will end up losing quite a bit more than by playing the more standard strategy. That said, Wolf Video Poker allows you to change the strategy and see how it affects the EV. You can get it at www.wolfvideopoker.com. It's a good product.

Going back quite a number of years here but I watched Eduardo do well on loose deuces. He played by the book and was rewarded. I got my drawers cleaned out. No love for me from the former LVH off strip.
