Strange experience at WOV

Post by billryan »

Very weird experience. I went to join yesterday and it told me I was already a member. Requested a new password and signed on. Made a post in a thread and today I'm seemingly banned. Not only that but the administrator posted that I'd signed up for numerous accounts and was a known troublemaker. Said all the accounts were from the same computer and was located in Kansas. I tried to notify him of his mistake but can't post since I'm banned.
Very bizarre. I have little desire to post there now but hate being accused of something I didn't do.

I don't even know what wov is, but hopefully, you can find someone who is a member to intercede for you with the administrator. Try searching the internet to see if others have had similar problems. Good luck. I would feel just as you do if it happened to me.

it is where the knowledgeable VP players post. I believe dancer refers to it often, when finding fault with some of the posts on this site. apparently, one can find plenty of winners who post there.

I looked through a number of threads. There do seem to be a number of advantage players there.

it is no wonder the casinos are hurting with all those AP's making a good living with their 1% advantage, raffles and the free toasters they get.

Just for your education.
Let's say a Blackjack counter plays at a 1% advantage. That means for every $100 he wagers, he will average $101 return. If his average bet is $100 and he gets 100 bets an hour, what is his hourly win rate?
Even at a full table dealing 50 hands an hour, his return is $50 an hour.
What part of that don't you get?
Now if a VP player is playing at a 100.5% game, it means he makes fifty cents per hundred dollar played. $5 a hand times 500 hands an hour is $12.50 an hour. $25 a hand and you are looking at $60 an hour.

The forum isn't very VP centric, for what it's worth. VPFree often has more good VP info/discussions, but it's god awful format that Yahoo! Groups uses tilts me so much that I rarely read/post there.

And this is another issue with WoV that they have had lately. Crazy people that fly off the deep end and start trolling the place with multiple accounts after they get banned. Not saying that's you, but they have to be really diligent when IP matching comes up.

As for your screenname there, it looks like someone created it in Nov. 2009 along with a bunch of other screennames with the intention to spam according to the "suspension list". I guess they assume you are the same guy? The way you are acting on here, you never visited WoV ever, correct?

Could be an odd coincidence someone else chose your screenname almost 7 years ago? Or you created the account, forgot you did, someone hacked it and ran with it? That would explain a bunch of other accounts coming from Kansas. You're in Vegas now right?

I could forward this thread to a WoV moderator if you would like me to. It's possible it's a misunderstanding/mistaken identity thing.

educate me some more. you speak with such certainty that if something is expected to happen, it will actually occur. even dancer refuses to guarantee that someone will win on a positive machine.

I am certain there are plenty of unemployed folks in Nevada, who would welcome earning $50/hour, are you willing to guarantee that will happen, if they play with a 1% advantage?

it takes place in a casino, it is gambling, what don't you get?
