Do you count this as winnings?
Had,for me, an epic session yesterday.
Playing Deuces, but the casino had a promo where if you got a natural four of a kind or better, you got a ticket and six Tix got you a special wheel spin.Early on, I got three naturals and a straight flush, playing $1 a hand.
Minimum coin for the contest was a quarter so I switched to a progressive nickel machine and also to JOB.
The fifth 4oak came after about 45 minutes, but the sixth took over three hours, in which I gave back all my winnings. However, I earned a spin on two different wheels, with a minimum of $35 and a max of $1500. Limited observation shows the first wheel usually pays in the $50-75 range and the second in the $10-25 range.

I would. any cash, prize (value once sold) and results of free play, that is derived from playing VP would count in my book, minus any taxes due.

Ok wait a second.....what did you ultimately get with YOUR two free spins!????!!!??!?!?How did this work exactly? Did you raise your hand everytime you hit a quad? was it applicable to ALL video poker machines all over the casino????Which casino were you playing and what is the actual name of this promotion?? It sounds quite interesting and potentially QUITE profitable!!! Please provide as much info as you can, or at the very least, direct us to where we can educate ourselves about it.....!To address your initial POST & Question: YOU BET I "count" this as "winnings"?Seriously, What else would you count it as or where would you put the funds gained in terms of a balance sheet (i.e. which column or category)???Awesome post though, BILLYARN!!

Emerald Isle in Henderson.
It's good on any single line machine with a 25 cent minimum.
It's not everyday but it's a regular promotion.
You don't spin that day. One wheel you have to come back on Sunday afternoon. That's the six quads. Yes, you have to hit the service button each time.
The other one was for getting 1,000 points- 1,000 cash in.
That's another regular promo but not 24-7. That wheel Spin is for next week.
Do you count this as winnings?
In my mind
any profit gained directly from a video poker machine or video poker
play is a win. This includes comps and free play. I would not include a
raffle prize unless it was directly related to something that happened
while I was playing video poker. Of course I would take the prize and be happy about it, but I wouldn't say I won it playing video poker. In the specific case you described, I would
count it as a win.

If you're trying to keep good track of overall results, I would record it. It could be in a separate category than actual game play, but I wouldn't ignore it.

On Sunday, I got my first spin. Crapped out at $25, but the woman behind me got $80. $Second spin was $15 for a $40 total.
