Best Way to Use Freeplay

Post by Lionqueen »

I recently won $5,000 Freeplay and used the first $4,000 downloading $50 or $100 then cashing out any real money made. It has worked well and been fun but now that I'm down to $1,000 I want to play it the smartest way possible and realized there are some really knowledgeable players on here and I would love your feedback on how you would play it. Thanks!

Congrats on winning that much freeplay.

If you are playing in a negative situation, just play like you normally do without deviating so that freeplay gets converted into your bankroll. No need to bet larger or smaller amounts. The freeplay has no bearing on the game's outcome. You were happened to be on a bad stretch.

Congrats on the freeplay windfall Lionqueen, I hope you did well on the first 4k. There was a forum post about this very topic a while back and some people had interesting thoughts. I'm on my tablet right now and can't do it but if some other kind person here can search and link up that forum thread it may give you some ideas.

I seem to remember some posters talking about playing dollar single line max coin while others spoke of quarter multi line max play.

Others talked about slot play also.

Good luck to you whatever you choose.By the way: were your recent dealt aces courtesy of some of this freeplay? Hopefully,yes...

$5,000 in free play!  Wow, that's sweet.  It's never happened to me, but I've thought about what I would do quite a few times myself.  A few months ago, Bob Dancer said it is a good idea to play slots with your free play.  He said you would get more offers that way.  I'm not sure I would play $4,000 in free play with slots, but it's worth a thought.  There are two ways to look at free play.  You can treat it as a windfall and take a pot shot in the high limit room or treat it as regular earnings and play the way you normally would.  At the casinos where I play there is a time limit on free play.  $5,000 would last me a long time as I normally play quarters.  Personally, I think I would play at least half of it in the high limit room and the rest at my normal denomination.  I'm not sure that's the correct answer, but it sure would be fun...

Ted - yes the dealt aces were part of it. When I won the $1200 then $5000 the night before I did decide to play some high limit slots and lost $400 real quick on a $5 machine. I had said I would play $500 on the $25 slots but chickened out. I used the actual FP only on VP so far.

Interesting idea to play it on the slots though. It's good for 30 days so I'll probably wait and drive myself crazy. We're on a non-gambling vacation next week and love having the extra $ to spend!

Phil, you would use it on quarters? I thought of that too - keep my winnings so far and relax the rest of the month and play on the house.

I've been very lucky on their drawings and promotions lately and realize I will probably never have this happen again so just want to do it right. Oh, the other winner spent theirs on high limit slots - just heard about it and don't know how they came out. I should probably ask. 😉

Thanks for the feedback - it's appreciated more than you know.

WOW!!! What fun...Congrats Lionqueen!!! At our casino Phil, a few years back, they started giving point for dollar on keno and video poker, instead of 1 point for every 2$ spent...So makes it nice for point earnings. Its the same as slots. Anyhow way to go Lionqueen!

I wish ours would do that. They lowered the pay tables so we would continue earning point per dollar then changed it to 2/3 but didn't raise the paytable. I give them a lot of grief especially on the surveys. They surely rigged the $5,000 scratch off just to shut me up. 😂😂

What Ted and Phil mentioned about using the freeplay on slots are for positive situations. It is something tricky in which you will have to get creative with and find out on your own.

1. It will register slot machine activity on your player club card. It reports high ADT values. Not classified as a pure video poker player as slot players are the most valuable commodities to the casino.

2. Consuming too much freeplay on a good video poker machine increases the risk of that will get downgraded in the future.

Lq if I were going to play slots, it would be at the 1 or 2 dollar level. Several friends of mine have hit some nice jackpots playing 1 dollar (2 or 3 dollar max bet) slot machines.
