Both Ct casinos give me a year end treat

Post by olds442jetaway »

Usually it is trick when I play a Marathon, but this time both Ct. casinos gave me a treat Wednesday evening. I had booked a room at Foxwoods since Mohegan was sold out, but decided to stop and play at Mohegan first and have a little dinner there as well. I was playing a triple play double down stud game on deuces wild and caught 2 wild royals on the dollar machine out of the 3 dealt hands. That one was good for just over a 1200 hand pay. Unfortunately, I gave back 200 before heading over to Foxwoods. I checked in there, had a little desert and drink in the lounge and played the only machine I really like to play there which is the quarter multi strike double down stud machine and the deuces wild game within that menu. I had played it quite a while and was down a considerable sum when I caught quad deuces on the bottom line. That automatically has a 2x multiplier after doubling even on the bottom line so it paid me just over 800 bucks. Had I been playing bonus deuces it would have paid me 1600 because I had an Ace with the quad deuces. Oh well, I was more than happy. I think the sun was coming up when I packed it in though. Caught a badly needed rest and then stopped back at Mohegan Sun for a late breakfast. Had a little chit chat with my concierge friends there and headed back home to catch up on things with the family. Happy and healthy New Year to all....Olds......

Nice!  Got your text while we were at a party.  Wish I had gone to the casino instead.

Congratulations. I am still puttering around taking limited max coin shots to procure a RF. Three quads in two days did prevent losing days. I should be thankful for the generosity. The casinos seem to play looser these days.

After catching up on much needed sleep from the New Years party at Mohegan the wife and I went to, I decided to see what the new year will bring early. I stayed over Sunday at Mohegan and Foxwoods both splitting my play up between them. At Foxwoods, I played the lone Ultra Deluxe Multi Strike game and the DDS deuces wild option for the most part. Well it was a tug of war for a few hours and after not hitting anything great, I decided to play DDS joker poker on the same machine for a few minutes. Sure enough on the 3rd hand 2 of which were substantial pot shot bets, I hit 4 deuces on the top line which is good for a 16x multiplier and over a 2,200 hand pay. I was thrilled of course, but had that hit been on the deuces wild DDS game that I had just been playing on the same machine, the hand pay would have been well over 10 grand. That is just the way it goes. On the way home, I stopped at Mohegan for a late breakfast this morning and played an hour on a single line Deuces wild dollar machine and of course in that time period hit 4 aces with kickers twice and without any deuces. That just seems to be the pattern for me. Thank goodness, for the 2016 year, the quad deuces bailed me out for the most part, because I am again up to over 600k hands total without a Royal. I over the last several years just cannot hit them with any regular frequency. At any rate Happy New Year all and thanks for all of the congrats etc. All I ask for is we all stay healthy for the New year. That Trumps anything else. No pun intended. Hee hee.

This little tidbit should be of interest to some. I took a peek at my win loss for the year and to my surprise it came at just about a net loss of 1.3 percent for the year. This matches exactly with my estimate of total coin in based on status points earned. It also represents about 1.5 million hands so this is a really good sample and should calm any fears of the machines at least at the Ct. casinos of being rigged. Even myself at times due to the dud streaks have questioned the integrity of the chips or innards, but this number would negate those fears. While much of my play earlier in the year had been on 99.54 machines, some was on 97.5, and some on 98.0, 98.9,and so forth. The bottom line is my average paytable would be right in the range of 98.5. Considering there are a few errors or bad plays in there too, I think these results are the best I could expect for the long term and while the loss in real dollars is not a small sum by any means, it is realistic and right on target. The bummer part is the darn State of Ct will get over 5 percent right off the top on 40 hand pays. Boy is that a bummer.
