Final and random thoughts:

Yeah, I ran bad - but had a good time. Above all, I didn't bust out or hit an ATM.

I am really glad we didn't stay downtown. If I wanted to hang out in a rundown, smokey, grind-joint, I would just play locally. As long as a decent gamble can be had on the Strip, I will continue to patronize them. A nice environment, good service, good booze, ect. is worth a few bucks an hour in EV. Above all, this is a vacation.

I should have given Ti, our usual home base, a little more play. But after loosing on the WPwQQ and the full pay downtown, I was reticent to play.50 DDB at Ti.

Slots of today, like Walking Dead, Buffalo Gold and Willy Wonka are like playing TDB with a 88% return - high volatility, with little chance of profit. I played them to low-roll while staying in the action. It didn't work very well, the money went just as fast.

It is a bit of a downer when after months of planning, practising, and researching that a trip has poor results; but coming home refreshed to a crying baby, a barking dog, and a loving wife reminds me life is still good.

Thanks to Ted, OMT, GG, Alpax, and Vman for following along this dry trip report and contributing their knowledge. I am no Royal Flusher.

The games at cosmo take into account all variants and gimmicks on every unit.

So playing 9/6 Jacks gets you 0.46% theo and on the same machine playing 9/6 DDB will get you 1.02% theo. Playing 9/6 TDB with Double STP will get you 1.35% theo. But there is no buffers for player errors. Offers generally seem to be in the 35% theo loss ballpark from everything I've read.

Much much appreciated again for this. From a recent GWAE episode with Buddy Frank (former VP of slot director), I heard that the technology is available now on Game King machines if a casino wishes to invest heavily in upgrading their infrastructure to allow tracking theo for different games. I think on a public forum, I saw that one player played both VP and Video Keno, and got bonus points for playing Video Keno.

The gimmick games would hurt the player if they do not properly play the gimmick (playing 5 credits instead of 7 on Double STP or the wrong move in Split Card Poker). Despite the way the VP is set up, I must give credit to Mr. Sweet; he is bright minded as various publications hail him as. Offers good games that people will play but knows not to overrate their comp value.

Good to hear CP found his smartphone, these days phone carriers do not offer two year contracts in return to subsidize the phone costs. It now comes out of the customer's pocket (though phone carriers will offer interest free monthly payments for subscribing to their services).

Vegas is pretty unique and special to outsiders, it never gets old to some people as long as they know exactly what they are doing and are in control of their finances. Good to hear you've enjoyed it for what it is.

If you want to be at a place with good ambiance and good beer and good food, I would recommend the M Resort. They've got 9/6 DDB for quarters, but I think Vman mentioned if you want to play it at the 32 degrees bar (probably they offer most refreshing beer ever) it has to be at $2 denomination. If you want it for quarters, you have to sit on the main floor and request the beer from the cocktail waitress. One thing I find disturbing on the strip is that the bachelor and bachelorette parties can get out of control, but the M Resort is peaceful. Its located south of the airport, It costs about $9 or $11 to get back on the strip with Uber/lyft. No matter how crowded the Strip gets, most of the pricing model is based on distance, where traditional taxis will charge you for every 15 seconds you are in the vehicle waiting for the stop light to turn green.

The video penny slots are much more appealing to play, but I never understood why they need to have such a high edge. Thus I went on a long hiatus on the Strip.

Yes, there is a video on YouTube where people won $12,500 (full extended stack of Wilds and 25x multiplier) on a minimum 75 cent bet as well as a $30,000+ progressive (Grand with 10x multiplier) on The Walking Dead II, people winning few thousands on Buffalo Gold after collecting 15 Gold symbols during the bonus, every free game goes nuts. Willy Wonka takes $6 (600 credits) bets and there are like screens left right and top.

All in all, I would say details is what matters more to me than hitting jackpot hands. I already done enough study that you come out behind more often, but the occasional times you will win will be memorable.

I personally do not think anyone comes close to Royal Flusher, he and Quad Queens is on another level. It takes time to do these reports, so I appreciate them whenever someone does it.

PPP I can probably not only speak for myself but multitudes when saying: reading trip reports such as those you or Vman write, give me the itch BAD to get out to Las Vegas and that many of us collectively feel like we're out there right with you.

Excellent job and for that I thank you.

So true, Ted.  Some trip reports, like PPP's and Vman's make me a vicarious partner in their trips, and I thank them.  Great reports  Thank you.

I agree, he has a great standard for a VP-centric report. But I wish he would pick up the pace a little when writing them. Those grommets must be keeping him occupied.

And detailed reports with pictures do take a good amount of effort.

As for the results ppp, could be better, but one royal would have pushed you ahead at dollars!

Now, a month later, offers have started to come ffom Cosmo - 2 free week nights. $35 per day resort fee would apply, as well as limited selection of dates. Not too bad, especially for a few hours of quarter play, for such a swanky place.

Not a bad teaser offer for the coin-in you got there, imo.

Going to Vegas near the end of the month! Woohoo!

I agree that it is a good offer given the action PPP gave them even though it is for a midweek stay (which is normally the lowest price point). It is the best time to be in Vegas from a gambler perspective.

I was honestly intimidated by the expectations for a Strip casino, let alone a high-tier resort before this thread, but this clarified so much for me.

Good luck in Vegas!
