Double Deuces

Post by FloridaPhil »

This year I decided to change strategy.   At the Tampa Hard Rock where I play once a week. the better DW odds start at 50 cents.  This always threw me into a tizzy as I normally play quarters.   I was always thinking up some scheme attempting to overcome the lousy quarter odds.  These attempts almost always failed.  Jumping around in denomination and taking pot shots worked on occasion, but I found they were costing me more money in the long run.  I suspected this for along time, but my hard head prevailed.  I kept pumping money in the machines with each "secret strategy of the day", while my wife stayed at the same denomination and did much better.   In January I made my move to all 50 cent play. This required a bigger bankroll and a little more guts as on a bad day your money can go away fairly quickly.  To my surprise this turned out to be a good move.  With 1000 coins ($500) I can play for at least 2-3 hours.  I watch my money and have yet to come home totally busted.  The good news is each quad deuce equals the total amount of your daily bankroll.  If you hit one and keep it, you are guaranteed to break even.Today started out terrible.  My $85 in free play was sucked into the machine without a bell ring and it was down hill after that.  About $300 into my own money I hit a wild royal and felt a little better.   With $150 left I hit a quad deuce for $500.  Great news, I'm going home without a loss!   Three hands later another quad deuce!!  Now I'm up $500.  I played out my remaining small tickets and went home with a $1,000.  This is the first same machine multiple quad deuce I've had in years.   No royals so far, but with this strategy I'm holding my own.  Bob Dancer.... I'm listening.

Nice hit.
Bob was just talking yesterday about someone emailing him after he hit a Royal after throwing away the nine in a King High Straight flush. Supposedly, that proved Bob was wrong. Evidently Phil thinks hitting two nice hands in a short period does the same thing.

Good hits Phil!

Doing that in Deuces Wild where you get a natural King high straight flush is the CORRECT play.

However on most other games, you do not, unless there is a progressive available on the Royal and it is is really really high, like around 12,000 credits

Wtg Phil and as we both know, tossing that straight flush is the correct plsy. 5 of a kind a different story as we also both know. Yes, Bob would be proud hee hee you having picked the best paytable available to you and playing the correct strategy. Also as we both know, your post has absolutely nothing to do with proving Dancer wrong. I get such a kick out of some of these shoot from the hip replies to your posts. By the way, I have moved up in denomination also am holding my own this year pretty well. I am up to dollars, but with the Mohegan machine that pays 800 for bet 1 for the Royal, and nearly a 99 percent game at that, I am actually playing less per line than if I was playing a quarter game at a buck and a quarter per line per shot. Best of health and wealth for this year.....in that order of course.

Pretty sure Bob was talking about JOB or any game where a straight flush pays 250 vs the Royals 4,000. You'll hit it once in forty seven times overall. 47 x 250 beats
any progressive I've seen.

You need to stay on your meds, or perhaps get some new ones. You take cheap shots and then don't even have the courage to stand by them.
