Hot Roll vs. Ultimate X
I think Hot roll is a much better game than ultimate X.
Both games you have to bet double the credit, but the Multipliers on Hot rolls apply to all hands, unlike Ultimate X. In addition the Average Multiplier on hot roll is 5X or 6X.
Anyone feel the same way about this ???

The following is from the Wizard of Odds website:
"Given that the probability of multiplier is 1/6 and the average multiplier when earned is 7, the overall average multiplier is (1/6)×7 + (5/6)×1 = 12/6 = 2. Since the player must double his bet, the return is exactly the same as for the base pay table. So, conventional video poker returns may be used for Hot Roll Poker."
Hot roll is an exciting game if you have the proper bankroll.

I don't think I've ever seen $60 disappear faster than when I sat down at a 25 cent Hot Roll Machine.
Maybe, someday I'll look into it again but not for the near future.

Have you tried Super Times Pay? That game is similar to Hot Roll in that you can go for multipliers but I find it more lucrative because the max bet is 40 percent less of the two games you're comparing. You could easily play one game of Super Times Pay with ten hands on a lower bet of 60 credits which is just a cost of ten more than one game of five hands on Hot Roll or Ultimate X at 50 credits. On a 600 credit budget, to have a minimum of ten plays with ten hands on Super Times Pay also gives you a better chance of winning bigger hands (10 x 10 = 100) where as the chances of winning big on a minimum of twelve plays with five hands on Hot Roll or Ultimate X is only three fifths of that (12 x 5 = 60)The one thing I do credit both games you are comparing for is having a 12x opportunity over a 10x which is the maximum on Super Times Pay. But I were to play a five hand game, I would go with Ultimate X because I'll always be assured of a multiplier with each winning hand. One other thing I will credit Ultimate X for is that it is also a good choice for self control because you are encouraged to always hold a "two pair" even if if you have a pair of Jacks or higher because of wanting to get the 12x from a Full House that could add up to a huge payout if you're fortunate to get the right cards.Hot Roll can be cute with the dice roll multipliers, but it's more costly betting wise and only better for a larger budget of 1000 credits if I wanted a minimum of ten plays with ten hands on that game. And if you think about it, when playing a five hand game I would have a minimum of twenty plays on that budget and the same chance of winning (10 x 10 = 100 and 20 x 5 = 100), however you also would have a longer play time which allow more opportunities for the dice roll.Either way, Hot Roll is worse financially. On the 600 credit budget you could also have a twenty play minimum on a three hand game except the chances of winning are less (20 x 3 = 60). For the same cost, twenty plays on a five hand game of Super Times play gives you a much better chance of winning (20 x 5 = 100)So between the two games you bring up, Ultimate X would be better to play than Hot Roll but I believe that Super Times Pay is more superior to both when it comes to winning bigger on a smaller budget. The cards of course can do anything, but I would rather try my luck where it's more sustainable.

On a sensory level; I find Hot Roll to be the "King of the Jungle". I believe both games are bankroll eaters, but I find I have more fun and a little more play on Ult x

The problem with Super X is that you rarely get a good multiplier and mostly I was seeing 2X or 3X and sometimes by miracle I would see 8X or 10X. But you guys are have made a very good point that I hadn't considered, that is the BUDGET. I never really think about that and I play with a Large bankroll, HOT roll really eats away your bankroll very fast, specially TDDB.
Going to Vegas for 2 days , I'll keep you guys posted on my progress. I will also give ultimate X another shot, never had much luck on that game.
I think i got spoiled when I played Triple Play $1 DENOM & I hit a few monster hands.

Never played Hot Roll. Don't recall seeing it in a casino round here (North East) but haven't looked for it. I like UX better than STP. Even with the extra cost my BR lasts longer.

I like both games, fwiw. I can't play them too long though with a tight bankroll. The nice thing about hot roll is there are no strategy differences.

What's you all's take on "Moving Multipliers Poker"
I don't care for gimmick games when playing with real money but I think this one may have some potential...

I have tried Hot Roll quite a few times and have yet to hit anything substantial.
