Sequential Royal

Post by spxChrome »

My local casino just added a sequential royal payout to their machines for 50,0000 credits. What does this add to the return?

I doubt it makes up for taking them from 9/6 DDB to 8/5 DDB but just curious if it adds anything given the rare occurrence. I guess they are planning on collecting on a truck load of full houses and flushes to make that payout when it does happen. Personally I hope one hits every other day so they regret that choice because I am not happy. Luckily we still have 2 banks that are hidden in the back that are 10/6 DDB & 9/7 TDB that have yet to be discovered.

Anyway where are my math people just curious about if it adds anything.

It adds about 0.4% --- and a ton of variance

Only 1 in 60 royals are sequential --- assuming you don't change your strategy to go for them

The Sequential is either way, right? (A-10 and 10-A)
So wouldn't there be 8 sequential royals?

A-10 of Hearts
A-10 of Clubs
A-10 of Diamond
A-10 of Spades
10-A of Hearts
10-A of Clubs
10-A of Diamonds
10-A of Spades

That's correct. There are eight sequential royals out of the 480 possible permutations (120 per suit) of the five royal cards. And, as indicated by Bob Dancer, that is one in sixty.
