Amazing Total Reward Offer
I have been Diamond for many years. Last year I only made one trip to AC at Caesars. So as of January 31 (2 days ago) I was move to Gold status. Fine, I didn't get near 15,000 points in one trip anyway. So today I get an email from Total Rewards Visa advising if I spend (charge) $5000 on my card between Feb 1st and May 15th, I will be re-instated to Diamond. WHAT? Well that's amazing and a no brainer. I use the card for everything anyway. Caesars must really be hurting to offer this deal. Anybody else get this offer?

Yes indeed, I'm pretty sure a whole slew of people in the CET marketing database received that offer in the mail.....it's standard operating procedure on CET's part to just blanket the masses with such offerings and then see what happens in terms of response. I do not believe it necessarily means that CET is "hurting", it's just the way they do business......Anyway, kudos to you for taking advantage of the means and methods to achieve Diamond Status without doing it thru actual specific PLAY that easily can result in your becoming bankrupt. Keep up the good decision making......

I don't have such a card and was never Diamond to begin with, so as usual I am SOL. Which way to the 9/6 JOB?

I have a CET credit card. I thought that gave you platinum status automatically.

Yep. I never got it. I figure that I would organically attain it in 2017, which I did to my bank account's dismay. Gold looked gaudy and flashy. But I'm okay with downgrading next year if necessary.

Platinum is good for free parking at CET casinos in Vegas. Only reason I have it.

You may be right about platinum status just by having the total reward credit card. On my total rewards phone app I was downgraded to gold at the end of January and then all of a sudden I'm platinum out of the blue and I couldn't figure why. Still working on diamond status from purchases on visa and about half way there. Much easier on the pocket book than coin in of between $75,000 and $150,000

Platinum is good for cutting some lines, but it's main advantage is the free parking in Vegas.
Diamond Lounges are very overcrowded these days. Most of the ones in Vegas are pretty useless.
CET has really downgraded it's Diamond, imo.

How would you guys and gals like to have to run 2 million through the machines at Mohegan Sun in Ct. to maintain Soar status. That is about what it takes playing vp. You do get free rooms, lounge access, some shows, unlimited golf, a little free play, some nominal gifts nobody needs etc. but that is about it. 2017 will be the final year for Soar for me. The moths just flew out of my wallet when I opened it.

After many false starts, I'm off the dollar VP bandwagon now. Another Harrah's beating today. The stress has consumed me. There's no end in sight to this abyss! Just throw in the towel and keep to my little quarter bank. The only solution is to scale back. It was dumb to move up and insane to remain there week after week.
