Any memory aids for Bonus Poker strategy/games?

Post by Jojo2018 »

I've found the wizard strategy for Bonus Poker. There are like 30 rules. Much prefer Deuces Wild, lol! However, no DW games near me. Or JOB, which also is easy to remember.

Was wondering if anyone had something to simplyfy the strategy.

Just the number of rules. also, the straight flush draws with gaps (inside draws, double inside draws). In contrast, DW is a lot simpler.

Just use Jacks or Better strategy. For the 8/5 BP game (99.167%), using 9/6 JoB strategy cuts the return down to 99.15%. For many players, that's a small enough price to pay to eliminate learning one more strategy.Should you use something like 9/5 JoB Strategy to play either the 8/5 the 7/5 BP game (or 6/5 for that matter but you really have no chance at all on a game this bad), the fall off in what you give up for using the wrong strategy is quite a bit less --- because how much you receive for the flush is a major factor in the strategy. Also, you need to practice the game somewhere before you go playing. BP requires a MUCH different mindset than does DW --- such as holding single high cards, or two or three unsuited high cards, or whether 3 to a royal flush is higher or lower than AA, KK, QQ, or JJ. The difference in value between KK and 77 is very important in BP, and they are equal in DW. Whether you hold one pair or two is dependent on the pay schedule in DW, but you ALWAYS hold two pair in BP. Whether you hold four to the flush over a pair of 7s is also dependent on the pay schedule in DW, but you ALWAYS go for the flush in BP. These are examples. There are many other differences. They are both simple games, relatively speaking insofar as video poker strategies go, but very different. A gold membership on this site will give you correction. Video Poker for Winners will too. But if you're switching games without correction, you will be making quite a few extra mistakes simply because the mindset is so different. Please note that i am giving advice for someone who has trouble learning new strategies. That's not a bad place to be. We all are at different places in our learning curve with respect to video poker and everything else in life. But it is not the same advice I would give to someone more advanced in their video poker career.Anyone who is serious about winning and is capable of learning the correct strategy should do so for optimal results.

Unless you are on some sort of casino "watch list" and/or somehow attract undue attention to yourself when inside any given casino, why on Earth don't you just use or download your smartphone and consult a guide or cheatsheet for those rare few hands you don't know the answer to?

The easiest way to never be asked to refrain from playing Blackjack is to actually use (or request to use) a basic strategy card or guide...whether you are a actual, real card counter or not.

Consulting your phone while playing will not likely be tolerated. You do make a good suggestion though and I've never had any problems consulting printed strategies while playing.

If you periodically look at it, no one would likely notice or care. I will occasionally use it on messed up games that I rarely play, like AC Joker Poker. But of course, a disclaimer, it is technically against state laws. I've never heard anyone claim they were punished for using it though.

OP could also buy one of Bob's cards though for reference, that looks fairly concise.

The original poster was talking about using the WOO strategy. Those strategies have the very commendable assets of being free, accurate, and basically instantaneous. They have many not-so-user-friendly long lists of actual hands that comply with each rule. This is NOT suitable for printing out. Consulting the site inside a casino requires an Internet connection and it still takes considerable time.Thank you vman for suggesting my card. It is portable. It does categorize hands. It is not free. There are other cards on the market.Whatever system you use, you need practice AWAY from the casino to become competent.

Most people have a mobile phone. It's not hard to bookmark the pages you need with the proper strategy for whatever various games that are played do a quick easy look. I primarily play 9/6 JoB and NSUD and I have both separately booked.

I also have the hand analyzer book marked as well. These things only take a couple of seconds to do.
