Vegas 2018

Post by pokerpokerpoker »

Beware Vegas! PPP is coming to take your money and guzzle your booze!

It won't be long now. The day is finally here for my yearly trek to Vegas.

Things are set up nicely - $80 flights on SW out of Midway, 3 nights in a comped suite at Ti with $250 FP, 3 nights comped (except for $119 in resort fees) next door at the Mirage with $150 in food and $100 FP. The Mirage deal is through the local Ameristar. One of their perks of the gold card is a yearly Vegas offer. As usual, my 81 year old dad will be joining me as will my best friend of 35 years, CP. Dad will take the Mirage room, while CP and I will use the suite.

Checked in for the flight last night and got A60 and B1. Not too shabby. Hopefully this means the flight isn't too full and no one sits in the middle seat between dad and me.

Bankroll is $3000 loosely divided with the "envelope system" for the 3 days. Gambling plans include lots of .50 9/6 DDB at Ti, 9/7 TDB at the Cromwell, 8/6 BPDLX DSTP at Aria, and drinking some fancy cocktails at Cosmo Chandelier Bar with 8/5 DDB. I have $25 FP at Cosmo too. If the BR is holding up, I would like to play a couple green chip BJ sessions at Ti.

I have $30 FP at the Plaza, but unsure at this point if we will head Downtown.

As for dining, plans are one dinner and breakfast at the Mirage buffet with our dining credit. The rest of our meals will be low end - I am not a foodie and dad and CP have tight budgets. I do plan on checking out the BBQ at Ellis Island.

Updates to follow. Wish me luck!

I wish you luck.
Is your trip for three nights? I originally thought it was six and was thinking you were under bankrolled.

3 nights. Double booked for the extra goodies. Having 2 rooms for 3 guys is better anyway.

Thanks guys.

Picked up Dad and made it to the Midway Park Saver in good time. Midway Park Saver is a lot in front of the main entrance of Midway where you can park for $12 a day, vs the $18 for the city lots. A quick 5-7 minute walk from the lot to the ticket counters.

Security line was short. I asked the TSA about my belt and he said " you are fine". Well, the machine went off and I was pulled aside for a pat-down. Buttcrack, junk - the whole nine-yards.

Good luck to you PPP, your buddy, and your father at Vegas.

Thanks Alpax and player.

Flight had many open seats and we were lucky to have no-one between us. Flight attendants came by many times with snacks and drinks.

Hopped on Lyft for the ride to The Mirage. Driver took the tunnel, but considering it was Saturday night, I am glad he did - $17.

Got checked in at the Mirage and got dad settled in, then on to Ti.Unfortunately, the tram between Ti and Mirage is down for renovation. The suite is quite nice with a pullout sofa for CP, 2 bathrooms (one with Jacuzzi) and 2 closets. The view is of Trump Tower.

After a quick bite at McDonald's, it was down to business. Headed towards my usual spot, the .50 9/6 DDB, only to find out there are only 3 left. The others were changed to $5 short-pay. I couldn't het a seat, so I decided on nickel Bonus Streak. $100 was nearly gone when a decent "streak" with multiplied FHs and flushes brought the counter to $120 and I cashed out. I moved over to ULTX spin, which scarfed $100 in minutes.

Finally I got on the .50 and it sucked up nearly $400 without a quad, until the aces popped up -leaving me nearly even
