RNG
Does the software for training use a RNG or are bigger hands more likely to be dealt (quads, royals)

Are you referring to Training Mode on this site? If so, at random.

Just curious because I’ve been playing VP for about 3 years now and I haven’t done so well... I started using this site to make sure I wasn’t making mistakes and while doing so I got dealt a royal flush. So either I’m the unluckiest person or there’s no RNG...

Having an RNG simply means selecting cards at random. The fact that you haven't had a dealt royal flush in the casino but had one in training mode doesn't change that. You simply got lucky once. Hope you have similar luck in the casino at some point (though I'm waiting for my own dealt royal myself, so don't take mine!)

I’m unsure you’re grasping my question... I’ve lost a significant amount of money playing video poker (mainly quarter 25-50 play 9-6 Jax) and have been what I thought was unlucky. I payed the 10 dollars or whatever it was to use the training mode to make sure I wasn’t making any mistakes. I’m not making mistakes and the software has shown me this in the 1500 or so hands I’ve played...
I got dealt a Royal while playing the free training... this was random and uses the same random number generator as the Casino? If so that’s the icing on the cake for my unlucky streak.
