We left for an uneventful drive to Tunica on St. Patrick's Day. The first night we stayed at Hollywood as it was ~cheap, and kept our hotels.com nights active. We're here!
The room at Hollywood. They actually have Tempurpedic beds!
After checking in, headed to Fitz for their annual party.
As a result, Fitz is a zoo.
Green Bud Light!
Bad picture of Irish dancers.
More pics of Irish dancers from her better phone.
Elvira boobs!
My gf, M, is having fun here because she can dance at this place apparently. I thought we wouldn't last a half hour here. We stayed an hour and a half instead.
Then met up with another VP addict from St. Louis that was in town for the weekend at 1st Jackpot over some craft beer. He and his wife are Disney fans too, so M wasn't bored by all gambling talk. Lol
Had a couple of these while there, yelling over the band. Wiseacre "Gotta get up to get down" (5%; 4 Sips)
As for VP highlights...more like lowlights for most of us. But at least good conversation slowed us down. M was at least able to hit Aces at 1st Jackpot! But only one coin cuz she's cheap. :(
We all also played at Roadhouse for awhile. His wife hit and run a Buffalo Wonder4 for some super free games. Our VP luck still didn't turn, but in true Tunica fashion, we got drunk!

Sunday, March 18
Check out of Hollywood, double check the progressive at Resorts stage bar. Could see it without entering. $1190...sigh. Not playing Double Deuces this trip I guess. :(
Run to Southaven to eat and shop for the afternoon because M says, "You can't gamble all the time." I respectfully disagree.
Had ribs at Atrium cafe. Huge full slab that falls off the bone. Forgetting to take food porn is me in a nutshell.
Us fleas also had an offer for $10 freeplay if you earned 75 points during the month and yesterday was double points on slots only. So I actually played some slots! Worked out pretty well for me.
Then tried Wild Panda. And made a couple big hits.
And a huge 240X hit to push me ahead for the day!
Also tried a Double Diamond Haywire machine. Mostly a tease though.
But this hit helped.
And after midnight hit and double points ended, I was praying for an Ace Ten suited royal! It would be mathematically correct for once! I've never seen the progressive this high at Gold Strike, Gold Strike, Gold Strike!
Broke a high pair on this one, but no dice. :(
After Gold Strike, M went to bed because unfortunately her slot luck went in the dumper.
So I wrap up the night at Roadhouse, talk to a nice couple from Arkansas while we hit the double STP machines.
Finally got off the quad schneid. Of course it's deuces while not playing quarter deuces. Lol
Later I found a "Rock Around the Clock" after 9 o'clock so went after it and hit the Major ($21.15).
Stumble up to bed at the usual hour...lol
Monday, March 19
Ended up having the Gold Strike Buffet for lunch, had $5 food credits! haha Decent for lunch, better than most Tunica buffets.
Walking back to Roadhouse.
We "napped" at the Roadhouse for a little while before heading to Sam's Town for a bit. The front of the casino looks like it's a town out of the old West.
This place has some weird charm to me, but less so after the 9/6 JoB bartop downgrade. Dicks.
At first I thought they got rid of the Ultimate X machines on the floor because they were no longer there. But they just got moved. Also tried "Diamond Queen" since I have seen some huge bonuses on it. No bonus for me though. Also tried "Goonies" at 80 cents a spin. An 80 cent minimum penny slot in Tunica? Wtf? No "porn" there either. :(
Find the Ultimate X games that got moved and find some things to get back into the black.
Then for some reason I decide to check paytables because they moved the units. On the all star II games, they downgraded DSTP to 8/5 JoB. Grrr. So I look at Ultimate X. They have typical stuff mostly, but I look at 3 line Bonus for quarters. Says it's 7/5 (~99.3%)! WTF?
So I think to myself for a moment, when will I get a chance to play "full pay" quarter UX again unless I want to drag myself to South Point or the "Strat" (lol).
So I say "screw it" and play it "in the manner the game is intended to be played" as Harrah's Joliet told me once. Lol First pic proves it's 7/5.

Well that was another quick ~$50 in my win column and M wasn't doing too shabby either.
By this point I was parched of course and headed to the bar, haha. Even though the bartops have been downgraded, they have added some super stars with some CHEAP UX.
When it's cheap, people have no clue what's going on. Who leaves all 12X's behind?!?!?! I hit $1.20 on it. Thanks clueless drunk whoever who are.
I found many more and when I was done with that I decide to play "straight up" more because I can't play for this cheap ever.
The first one was the best.
Hit so many quads one of the machines got green with envy for me after I cashed out from it! Hahaha
Even M got into the act, partaking in a few of their frozen strawberry daiquiris.
From one card!
So now I'm feeling pretty good and I wanted to try two games I saw because again, cheap. Super DDB with Super Triple Play. At first it didn't want to take my money. It rolled up my $20 and a attendant had to fish it out. I should have taken that as a sign! As you can see, it ate that $20 anyway.
And I guess "Super Hand Poker" was a failure.
Move on to another game because again, ~cheap. "Flip and Pay" poker, a game that's less than a year old. The idea is for 10 credits the machine will change the rank of one card if it improves your hand to at least two pair or better as the machine points out on the right hand side. It changed a 2 to a 3 to give me dealt trips.
Well I didn't need the feature for this hand.
Hell yeah!!! Since I game hop a lot, this is my first "redraw" opportunity in over 6 years on DDB or TDB, iirc. It's been a long time waiting for this one.
Now up over $100 at Sam's and happy to get the hell outta Dodge!
Now it's getting closer to 10 and we just decided to split some BBQ pizza and spinach dip from the "Pickle and Jam" café at Gold Strike.
Get our freeplay loaded and play for a little bit. M took another hit and eventually relegated herself to 2c poker.
Big tease for her here. $800 would have been fun!
And of course when she just changes to bonus lol
Also tried some high variance crack for my freeplay. 9/6 TDB at dimes!
Of course I hit this when I decided to play 7/5 Bonus instead...
Then move over to Horseshoe to swipe for the new weekday multiplier as it was past midnight, which is when this promo resets. I might have got 5X on slots this time? Big whoop.
M gets a strawberry daiquiri again while I just piddle around as I figured I would just go back to Roadhouse soon.
Well, I noticed they added hot roll poker. They also decided (ignored?) that Bonus was "full pay"!!! Well now I had to give it a stab.
Nevertheless, it ate $10 very quickly.
So go to Roadhouse with M, with plans to wrap up the night with the usual 9/6/5 Double Bonus with DSTP. Well...
Of course we already activated it because we weren't ready to take a pic of it the first time! 100X reward credits on slots and tables! Hell yeah!!!! NOT on video poker! Damn you CET! Haha
Now I was definitely happy about this! But I was also a bit thrown off by it because I was in "win preservation" mode after Sam's Town. M is also very risk adverse, so we weren't going to hammer it as much as we probably should have. Looking back I probably should have went much harder with bet sizing and pray I didn't go broke in the process. Basically we decided to grind slots for much longer than we typically do, and play "different" games than usual while I tended to up my typical bet a bit.
So I'm back to "grinding the slots" again!!!
No real big hits unfortunately. :( Here are mostly a hodge podge of bonus games or sizable line wins for the night with a few comments.
This game I found amusing because at Harrahs North Kansas City this slot is near the bathroom making noise very loudly and made me think of a lady making moaning noises. Apparently it's a seal...whoops!
Buffaloooooooooo! I also went 0 for 8 on a bonus round this trip though. :(
Heidi is such a tease sometimes. Hoped for more than 25X from this.
One of my bigger hits sadly.
Talked to my favorite slot attendant for a bit, and he pointed out one of the Blazing 7's quarter progressives was pretty high, about $480, $375 mininum. I appreciated the tip, but the machine was rough for me, and payout is top heavy for sure. Got 3 blanks for 2 credits though! Lol
Then tried one of my friend's favorite slot types for 45c a whack. $10 in, 22 spins in a row without a single hit on this 9 liner. Rigged! Lol Why do you like to play these?!?!?! Lol
M was a trooper and stayed up till about the end of the gaming day, 4am while losing a decent amount for her standards. Before this, I asked an employee at TR desk/cashier about how long the actual multiplier lasted. She said 11am, which sounded like a BS answer. The pic with 100X on it was taken the next day after 11am. We repeatedly checked that the multiplier was active.
I, of course, kept pressing on.
M messaged me about the time of this pic. The pic timestamp is 8:09am. Gulp.
But I wasn't done yet, I'm thinking it's 100X, I need to keep playing. I decided screw it, I'll drink even another beer after taking a few hours off with water. That was fun. My body then began to yell at me how tired I was.
My biggest hit relative to bet? Only 40X...bleh
9:43 am...
My winnings for the trip were clearly evaporated now. But I did expect this. I ran below average a bit, but I gained more comps than we lost as a whole, so that's a win right?!?!
M not that happy about my 10 am room appearance, but took it in stride given the circumstances. I was so tired the rest of the day, I actually slept in the car! I never can do that typically. :(
After checking out, we grinded a bit more as it still said 100X and fortunately I recouped a bit of losses. M lost $20 more though.
Now I know I should have probably upped the ante more and wished I had the courage/money to really up my play, and bet much higher (eg $5+ a spin), but given how I played it, I'm satisfied with the results.
M had 11,119 RCs in her account yesterday.
Over $250 in Rewards Credits! Of course, most reading this should have got over a grand with it, but I digress... So at least she got a really good present on MY actual birthday! She's good about sharing anyway.
