Finally, a really good day!

Post by onemoretry »

Yesterday, I had one of those casino days we all hope for, but which rarely come along.

My wife and I went to Casino Rama, which is about an hour's drive from our home. Before they seriously crippled their video poker games, we played there a lot - now it's approximately one afternoon a month, or so.

Overall, on the previous eight 2018 visits, I was down a total of about $1300 (minus $1600 at the machines, offset by about $300 cash back). The most recent four trips had all been losers, at -$500, -$500, -$800 and -$200 (who says we never discuss losses on this forum?).

My game of choice there is deuces wild bonus, the 98.8% version. They do have other games with slightly better returns (9/6 double double, 7/5 super aces, and airport deuces), buy I prefer to play it.

The game I play is on a 3,5 or 10 play 25c denomination Hot Roll machine. I elect not to activate the Hot Roll feature. Lately, I've been going "full bore", i.e., all ten lines.

Yesterday started out rather ominously, as the initial $200 I put in the machine was gone in less than ten minutes. I was plodding along on the second $200 when up popped three deuces and two aces on the deal. For those not familiar with this game, five aces pays 400 credits, so getting them dealt on a ten line game is the equivalent of hitting a royal.

Somewhat later, drawing to two deuces, I hit the four deuces. Then, for good measure, I hit them again, this time drawing to three.

And then, the royals came along. First, there was one drawing to three parts. Then another, again drawing to three parts. And, finally, on a one card draw to four parts, I caught two more.

That's four royals, two sets of deuces, and the dealt five aces, in just over three hours of play, for a net win on the day of $2630 (other than those seven hands, things didn't go that well).

We're heading off next week for ten days in Nevada. I sure hope yesterday was a good omen!

What a nice day it turned out to be for you OMT, and you got a little extra dough for Nevada. I hope you and your wife have a fantastic time while you are there and best of luck to you both.

Nice! Those are the days we all play for.

What!! Someone actually loses playing VP? I thought everyone on this forum is living large off the casinos. Just kidding of course. Thanks for being honest. I hope your winning streak continues.

Great going OMT...that is my favorite game as well. I've only had a day comparable to that once my life about 3 years ago. Have a safe and enjoyable trip. Two quick questions....Do you ever go against the math and hold a single deuce and an ACE? The other one is do you ever go against the math and just hold 2 dealt deuces and dump a single ACE that is dealt with the 2 deuces?

Wow! Another good day at Casino Rama! But, first I should mention that, since that previous good day, there were four visits with so-so results. Three of the four totalled $2300 down, while the fourth was $1400 positive. The most recent two visits had been particularly bad, with a combined loss of $1900 on only $17400 of play.

As normal, I played i0 line 25c deuces wild bonus (98.8%) on a hot roll machine, but without activating the hot roll feature. Within the first half hour or so, I hit a royal, drawing to a suited king ten. I then spent the next hour or so playing myself back down to a little less than even, before things started to pick up again. Even though I had finally returned to the slightly positive side for the day, I was wondering if I'd ever see a set of deuces. My previous two visits had been deuceless. Combined with my play for the day so far, I estimated I had been close to 30000 hands without them.

Finally, I was dealt three deuces. Of course, I totally whiffed on the draw, getting just the minimum 10 four of a kinds. Shortly thereafter, however, I was dealt a straight flush with three deuces, threw away the straight flush, and was rewarded with two sets of deuces, one with an ace.

After that, the game played fairly evenly, up some, then down some, etc. That is, until I was dealt all four deuces! I managed to convert one of the ten to deuces with an ace, for a total payout on the hand of $2750. That big hand propelled me to an overall plus of $3150 for the day.

And, to make things even better, my wife had a pretty good day, as well. She played mostly 25c 10 line, but with a bit of 5 line, super aces and deuces wild bonus. She hit the four aces twice on super aces, and four deuces four times while playing deuces wild bonus. And, she had two royals, each coming on a one card draw. She finished the day at plus $2060.

And now, I look to FAA for advice. Should I call it Money Monday, Majestic Monday, Mighty Monday, or Marvellous Monday?

Nice run! Do you ever turn on the "Hot Roll" feature? I find it very addictive.
