Feasting with FAA

I chose to lunch at Johnny Rockets to check out the grilled cheese sourdough sandwich Olds has raved about. It was pretty good. I chose cheddar. Waitress looked like Kimmy from Full House. 13,000 step day, so I didn’t want to feel sluggish. Nice nostalgic environment. Hopefully I’ll see the staff break out dancing for patrons next time, which is a thing at JR.

We have had one of these in a converted diner for about a year.
Been there twice. First time in a hurry. Burger was ruint.
Second time thought I would fix that. Asked waiter for one "on the rare side of medium rare".
Was informed that they only cook theirs well done. Walked out (No hurry this time).
How they ever survived, let alone expanded, is a mystery to me. Wonder if this policy is really chain wide? Anyone know?
Not to criticize anyone who likes well done beef, General Grant could not stand the sight of blood (is that ironic or what)
However they are in a minority, so how do you survive catering to a minority?

In Ct, they don’t dance anymore. They cook all their burgers well. Guess they are afraid of lawsuits. I go there rarely now. I suspect the cooks are illegal aliens or maybe here on Visas at best. Could be wrong, but speak o English as do some of the other employees. Most Americans just won’t take those jobs. Speaking on the same subject just for a moment, just about the entire huge cleaning staff at Bizarro speaks no English including Housekeeping.
We took the worst jobs growing up. 50s and 60s. Those days are gone. I won’t hyjack the thread with details so just mention in passing…… lowered into a factory oil tank to clean sludge, wiping down truck bodies with Thinner before the paint booth, operating dangerous machinery in a razor blade factory with 0 safety equipment. A few more I’ll save for another time.

Yes, but mostly in our backyard before fishing, or digging at the beach for sandstorms. I forgot. Picking tobacco worms at the family farm in Virginia on hot summer days.

Frugal FAA spent $5.33 on all this. The offer was one I could not refuse. A free six piece McNuggets after a Phillies win. I picked off the coating on all ten and blotted the fries. Only 1 ketchup packet and the honey mustard. I waited for the meal under the “Pick Up Here” sign, but my number never got listed. An employee saw that I was there too long. She saw my number. “Oh, you’re a mobile order. Around the corner to the other counter.” I like their segregated system. Great once customers are aware of it.

Not bad at all. Today we took advantage of the Wendy’s offer. Also good tomorrow. Up here, a Dave’s Single over 8 bucks with the Greedy States sales tax on restaurant food of 7.35 percent. The Wendy’s promotion is spend a buck and get the Dave’s single for a buck. Of course we got the key tag Frosty free too. Another Wendy’s I visit has free senior drinks! I’m trying to watch the fat, sugar, and sodium too. Unfortunately, all this stuff is Ultra processed and loaded with Sodium. Don’t even look into how diet drinks trick your system into weight gain and other bad stuff. The latest and probably worst of all is the microplastic build up in our brains or what is left of them and other organs. Ok, just forget I wrote all of this and enjoy your dinner. Just remember to have your coffee ( now very good for you ) and Matcha Green Tea. That’s on my to do list. 2 cups a day of the Matcha.

If it’s good today, I’ll drop by. They let me add lemon, which is nice. I always like to leave AC at 5 PM. I’ll rent a bike in midtown next time to kill more time after lunch. Two hours for about $20 all in with the machine access. Beats losing $200 on that stretch.

Strange. I just checked and the offer is not in the App today. Yesterday, in the App, it said expires 6/15. That usually means it is still good on that date. Mcd did bring back their 40 percent off Double CB deal in the App. Of course if you have your Mcd receipt, you can do a quick survey and get a BOGO any sandwich. I like to use that for the fish sandwiches if I have the Mrs with me. Wendy’s does still have in the APP the very bad for us one dollar topped fries with purchase. I never use that one, but if I did, I would order the junior CB for 1.49. ( new price ), and get the topped fries for a buck, along with the free senior drink. The senior drink is only offered at the Wendy’s I pass on the way to Bizarro World.

Yes, I have had the same experience. Wendy's offers disappear the day they actually expire somehow. It's very frustrating. I love the topped fries. It's great whether I go chili or bacon. I've done the McD DCB 40% off. Better get on those surveys.
